What Would Jesus Eat Diet
The Christian market is flooded with diet and exercise programs, each claiming to be "God's way" to healthy living. While some of them are based on biblical principles, and some have even proven effective for weight loss, there is not one program leading the pack daring to answer the question What Would Jesus Do? Or better yet, What Would Jesus Eat? This comprehensive eating plan examines Scripture and reveals what we know Jesus ate and what we can confidently infer He ate. Using current medical research, What Would Jesus Eat? demonstrates why the diet Jesus followed is ideal for twenty-first century living as well.

9. Lots of fast food in the Middle East!
I lived in a large Saudi Arabian city for 2 years (Jeddah) and spent this past January in Cairo, Egypt and environs.

American-style fast food is all over the place. (I lived in Saudi Arabia over 10 years ago and that was true.) There's Pizza Hut, Baskin-Robbins, a bunch of hamburger joints, etc. etc. Of course, your pizza comes without any pork products on it. They substitute lamb or beef. Or maybe goat.

Egypt has McDonald's but when I lived there Saudi Arabia didn't. McDonald's was on the boycott list because it was Jewish-owned. The Saudis also boycotted Coca-Cola for years because it had bottling plants in Israel. And Ford Motor Co., because Henry Ford II personally ordered planeloads of trucks shipped to Israel during the 1973 war.

The first American fast food I tried in Saudi Arabia was Kentucky Fried Chicken, and it was horrendous. The chicken was stringy, greasy and cold.

Later I discovered Tikka-Chicken, a name you see all over the Middle East. For less money than KFC, you got half a chicken fried fresh on the spot, a mountain of french fries, and pita-style bread with hummus and other local stuffings.

That's what I did when overseas. You can learn a lot about a people from how and what they eat.

3. I think it would be difficult to eat what Jesus ate but

if people want to do it, why not? Christian diet programs are just the latest thing in decades of American diets.

6. Oh BROTHER! Hey Check Out This Amazon Review...
there are all these weirdos acting like "Jesus didn't eat pizza or greasy burgers, the dangers are explained..." DUH! He didn't drink Coca Cola either I DON'T THINK, oh, I'll have to read the book to find out, right??

Anyhow one Amazonion was unamused:

In all my life, I have never heard of such drivel. If you have ever wondered why the rest of the world simply despairs at the decline of the USA, the very fact of this book's publication will tell you. I am in principle opposed to censorship, and not for a moment would I wish to ban it. Nor do I think that, on the whole, recycling paper is particularly efficient. But I'd rather see this nonsense shipped straight from the printer to the pulper. It would just save so much time.

I was going to say that I'd keep this book out of the hands of children, but then I mentioned it to my own children, and they thought the idea so hilariously funny - and the positive reviews even more so - that I realised I was wrong. Every good and happy child should be able to laugh loudly, freely, as often as possible. And they did. They knew adults were capable of folly, but this came as a surprise even to them.

There are just two alternatives. Either the author is sincere, and thus to be pitied, or the author is utterly cynical and thus deserves every penny gained from fools so easily parted from their money, by working out how to eat the fat of the land (Genesis 45:17-18). There's one born again every minute.

11. Jerry Falwell is going to have to FAST!
That sounds like a problem to me.

I wonder if this book says not to eat shell fish and "cloven hoof" animals.

I'm guessing shell fish and pork are included - unless of course the book is hypocritical like everything else they say and do.

We know God gnoshed down on Butter, veal and breadcakes then they washed it down with milk... before they negotiated the genocide of Sodom...

Gen 18:1 And the LORD appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day;
Gen 18:2 And he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw , he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground,
Gen 18:3 And said, My Lord, if now I have found favour in thy sight, pass not away, I pray thee, from thy servant:
Gen 18:4 Let a little water, I pray you, be fetched, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree:
Gen 18:5 And I will fetch a morsel of bread, and comfort ye your hearts; after that ye shall pass on: for therefore are ye come to your servant. And they said, So do, as thou hast said.
Gen 18:6 And Abraham hastened into the tent unto Sarah, and said, Make ready quickly three measures of fine meal, knead , and make cakes upon the hearth.
Gen 18: 7 And Abraham ran unto the herd, and fetch a calf tender and good, and gave unto a young man; and he hasted to dress it.
Gen 18:8 And he took butter, and milk, and the calf which he had dressed, and set before them; and he stood by them under the tree, and they did eat.

15. As usual, they miss the whole point
If one were to believe that Jesus ate this way while He was on this earth, that's fine. I wasn't there, so I couldn't verify one way or another. However, that's What DID Jesus Eat. What Would Jesus Eat were He here today is a whole different question. Christ sure as friggin hell would NOT eat anything genetically modified, grown with pesticides, or that otherwise brought ruin upon the world with it's farming. Christ also wouldn't touch meat. He'd likely look upon factory farming and the way we treat our animals with disdain and disgust. However, folks don't WANT to eat this way, and they don't WANT to think about this. The Jesus diet, or whatever bullshit they're calling it, is about making oneself feel better about living a completely unchristian life.

16. Jesus ate Blue Food
Edited on Thu May-19-05 07:50 AM by fed-up
He would have eaten organic, in season, mostly locally grown food that was not grown on corporate owned factory farms! He would have supported small farmers and would have bought at the local "farmer's market". He would not have caused massive quantities of fuel to be used to transport and process foods into the packaged foods found on today's supermarket shelves.

Those in America that eat at fast food places or eat most foods from their supermarket are contributing to corporations which then contribute to the repugs!

Foods grown with fertilizers (petroleum based), herbicides and pesticides support Republican Chemical companies, like Monsanto!

People that eat genetically engineered soy, corn, canola oil, or foods that contain cotton seed oil contribute to Monsanto. To avoid these GE (GMO) foods one must buy organic as they have defeated any legislation aimed at labeling GE foods as such.

So maybe eating Like Jesus is a good thing for Blues.
