but only on an American two state solution!

I no longer desire to share a country with these Repug Freaks. I don't think that liberals should be forced to "Love It Or Leave It" as the freeps always love to yell. We do love it! We don't want to leave it! We just want you repug bastards to give it back!

So, I propose we just split this bitch in two and get it over with. It is a huge land mass. Plenty of room for all of the secular humanists and fundie bible bangers we have. The issue is not total land, it is population distribution

I used to hold out for the good states. But, I want out so bad at this point I'll give them first pick. As long as they agree to take their freepie McGee Buddies with them.

I'll trade them New York for Alabama! Cali for Mississippi. Just leave those of us that move to the REAL United States of America the fuck alone to run our lives!!!

1. Just use the old Mason Dixon line and the vast majority of problems
are over. We get Hawaii, they get Alaska.

5. wait a second
Georgia was a Blue state for 132 years till we got Diebold.

I think there are more democrats in Georgia than anywhere in the southeast...

but there are some churches in this state I'd like to get rid of...

but hey, we're not all bad, and we're working out little redneck assess off on election fraud.

don't give up on the south just yet..

but I do miss a killer dance performance at Lincoln Center in NY.....

9. With Dem's running the north, I'm sure you could move up. Not like
there's no good places, and if cold is the issue, there's California and Hawaii. Neither is too shabby.

the south is not nearly as piggish as the real moron corridor: Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, and the Dakotas. Those areas are nearly pure red, while the south is a nice violet.

It's the heartland that's become the bastion of wingnuttery, dumbfuckery, and total delusion.

I've often thought Lincoln made a terrible mistake, that mechanization would have made the slave system unprofitable and the south would have had to abandon it to remain competitive. I'm sure they'd have rejoined us by now, if one state at a time.

They'd have kept their educated class, and the culture wouldn't be as ridiculously anti northeast and anti intellectual as it is today. They certainly wouldn't be sending pols like Jesse Helms, whose only qualification was pissing off the Yankees.

So rethink that map, folks. The heartland is the problem these days, not Dixie. Those folks in the south just need to grow up a little more.

On edit: tongue is firmly in cheek here, so don't bother to flame

13. I must disagree.
Freepers and radical, fundementalist rePubs are EVERYWHERE. We need to work on a case by case basis. We need to be more assertive in our positions. We need to not make generalizations.....like they do! :)

27. ok.. here's a non generalization
Freepers and radical fundamentalists are everywhere.

you said it and I'm only repeating it cause it's true in a taoist sense, but the same could be said of democrats or liberals.. the label is in the mind of the beholder..

so I'm going to say the south was not lost, it's only been hidden by election fraud..

the definition of fraud is in the mind of the beholder...

23. Not all the south is bad
Tennessee has a democratic governor. Sometimes I wonder if that's ever going to happen. Clearly we don't get a long.

11. The population is not politically split state-by-state...
Rather, it's an urban-rural split. Look at the county-by-county election maps and you'll see islands of intense Democratic voting surrounded by a sea of moderate-to-severe republicanism.

PICKS! I said I was ready to deal. Not just start claiming states.

We have no political clout to throw around. I'll take whatever shithole leftovers they want to give us!

Just as long as I can build a very high wall to keep them the hell out!

give us 10 years each of them outsourcing every job in their country and us rebuilding a manufacturing base for ours and we'll see who has the better economy at the end. Maybe when they've completely bankrupt "Redland" maybe us kind folks from "Blueland" will throw them some food. Maybe.

15. What about this?
Divide the country into nine fairly homogenous nation states... This solution would allow these regions to self-govern and deal with their own internal problems as they see fit. That way, if Dixie wanted to turn into a faux-christian theocracy, so be it. They woudn't have the Dem states to fund their militancy.

http://www.csiss.org/classics/content/18

snip

n his first book, The Nine Nations of North America (1981) Garreau argued that the existing political boundaries of North America are becoming increasingly irrelevant as regions begin to coalesce into smaller "nations," each with its own economic, political, and cultural characteristics. Garreau identifies nine new North American nations:

1. The Breadbasket: Iowa, Nebraska, Oklahoma and northern Texas as well as southern Saskatchewan and Manitoba in Canada
2. Dixie: southern and southeastern U.S. states, including most of eastern Texas and Florida to the city of Fort Meyers
3. Ecotopia: the Pacific Northwest coast stretching from Alaska in the north to just south of San Francisco.
4. The Empty Quarter: most of Alaska, Nevada, Utah, Wyoming, Idaho, Montana, and Denver, Colorado as well as the eastern portions of Oregon, California, Washington, and all of Alberta, British Columbia and Northern Canada.
5. The Foundry: the declining industrial areas of the northeastern United States stretching from New York City to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and including Chicago as well as southern Ontario
6. The Islands: the Caribbean islands, parts of Venezuela and the Miami-Fort Lauderdale portion of southern Florida
7. Mex America: the southern and central valley portions of California as well as Arizona, New Mexico and Mexico
8. New England: Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Connecticut and the Canadian Atlantic provinces of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland
9. Quebec: the Canadian province of Quebec

Note: obviously, the non-US parts of this would not be included, so no flames please :)

Lighten up Captain Better American!
