2. Well, your idea was cleaner than mine was, at least.
There's also the laundry room, if you have a sink in there.

7. You ever think about cruising?
You can find pretty good deals. If you are close enough to drive to one of the ports to hop on a ship, it's worth it. You're looking for cheap, so you're best bet is three to five day cruises. Check the carnival, royal caribbean, princess and celebrity websites for a port nearest you.

11. Panama
Edited on Wed May-18-05 09:13 AM by amazona
I'm already looking for a way to return. It is very warm, wet, and cheap this time of year so maybe bring a rain poncho for those afternoon thundershowers.

On Edit--If your friend is afraid of Mexico but wants the Latin flare, Panama is the way to go. It is safe, you can drink the water and eat the fresh fruits and vegetables without fear, and most of the people in the tourist industries will know a little or a lot English because of the former American presence. And everyone is super friendly. I've heard Costa Rica is good too but haven't had the opportunity to visit myself. Belize is another said to be good, and it is English-speaking.

12. Central America
Honduras, Guatamala, Belize, Costa Rica, Salvador, Panama, and much of South America. Quite good value, not too dangerous if you travel light and safe. Warm, wet, interesting, beautiful, and fun. I haven't heard of anyone not having a great time in Costa Rica yet.

15. Does it need to vibrate?
Sorry.

Padre Island is good. South Padre is better, but more expensive. Google Port Aransas, Texas, Matagorda, Texas. Good spots, and you can usually get a cabin for an entire week for cheap.

17. If you don't want to leave the states, Cape Hatteras.
Beaches are not crowded. On a busy day at the lighthouse beach, you may have a group of people every 80 feet or so. Go over to Ocracoke and you may have the beach all to yourself most of the day.

Fantastic people, great weather, beautiful historic architecture, lots of music, fabulous beaches, and VERY safe!

Be sure to take a tour of Ernest Hemingway's home outside of Havana, and of course, Old Havana.

One little caveat - the B* admin. could have you thrown in jail or given a huge fine on your return, so trip requires careful planning!
