ABC & NBC no mention of Galloway yesterday
Didn't happen apparently.

I taped and watched the BBC World News which of course lead with it and then watched the tape of WNT -nothing never even mentioned. I checked NBC's Nightly News web page-no mention never happened.

Oddly Fox News DID cover it... like this

Oh hold it wait no mention of it on their website. They did cover it basically "calling into question" Galloway's crediblity (Coleman said it first and it was repeated at least twice in the report).

1. Coleman ran off like a scared mouse
and defended himself from behind the skirts of his corporate media pimps!

8. BBC"Did he get the better of you?"
Coleman"Oh it's not about who won or lost" Really? I thought that was the whole point not just of yesterday but DC in general, these days anyway.

Coleman finished with questioning Coleman's credibility (hinting that they may have an investigation of that).

2. I read a post yesterday that said the Nightly News on NBC did cover it.
Send a link to everyone you know, if the media won't inform people, than we must be the media and do there job for them.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=104&topic_id=3677996&mesg_id=3677996

That NBC aired something...at the same time, anything that shines negatively on the repugs may be something to write home about...even if it's tiny :D

11. Sorry I could only tape one newscast
Well if they did they must not have thought it important enough to highlight, or feature, on their website.

3. CBS did
But they were sure to prominently show Galloway shaking Saddam's hand. I think they even showed it in slow motion. They did show his drubbing Normie though.

7. noticed the same thing
On Lou Dobbs, they showed a (not-kidding) three second image of Galloway, with no voice, and then gave Norm Coleman the floor for about five minutes to declare that Galloway was "colorful, but not credible."
That phrase had a real Frank Luntz ring to it.
Then, he was on Chris Matthews' show. At that point, I had no expectation that we would hear anything resembling the truth, so I turned it off and went outside to work in the yard.
Disgusting.

21. Well of course...Luntz was in the cloak room
and that's where Coleman ran for advice when he hastily ended the senate hearing because he was getting his ass handed to him.

10. The BBC World News was sadly skewed towards the right.
They had an analyst that basically said that Galloway's speech had no value. I thought that the BBC was supposed to be better than the American news networks.

12. I noticed the "up to one year in jail if he lied under oath to Congress"
Thought they actually mentioned the Dem report that the US and Britain knew about and facilitated kickbacks they left the impression that Galloway just maybe might have lied.

Didn't the BBC have their house cleaned (ala PBS now) two years ago?

18. Yes, that was disappointing
Some Thatcherite poodle from the Heritage Foundation rehashing charges that have already been disproven as though they were the gospel truth. Trouble is that Galloway doesn't really have much of a constituency yet; speaking truth to power is SO unfashionable these days, y'know. :sarcasm: Something about a prophet being without honor in his native land...

However, you can sure as hell count me in as a fan of his! :toast:

13. Galloway called it spot on
It was a kangaroo court. If there was a smoking gun to him being paid money they should have been able to produce it. Now who has credibility problems? The U.S. as usual.

19. I saw on one of the networks (not sure which one)
where they showed the clip of Galloway shaking Saddam's hand but they also showed Rumsfeld shaking Saddam's hand (I had never seen that clip, only the pic). I was impressed with the fair and balanced act, just wish I remember which network.

Galloway was trying to get Saddam to let inspectors in; Rumsfeld was there to sell weapons. But I get your point.

So it definitely appeared to be fair and balanced. Because if I remember they showed Galloway and Saddam first and then Rumsfeld and Saddam.

23. NBC Nightly News showed a video clip of Galloway
It was this portion:

“Senator, in everything I said about Iraq, I turned out to be right and you turned out to be wrong and 100,000 people paid with their lives; 1600 of them American soldiers sent to their deaths on a pack of lies; 15,000 of them wounded, many of them disabled forever on a pack of lies.”

29. Wolcott noticed
Empty Suit Politician Walks into Propellor

Based on what I saw on MSNBC (and congrats to them for going live), I would modestly venture that Norm Coleman and the Senate committee picked on the wrong guy when they picked on George Galloway (scroll down for "This Old Brit's"'s take). His rebuttal so exfoliated Coleman's short hairs that Fox News had to step in afterwards and downplay Galloway's rousing anti-Iraq war broadside as a rhetorical gambit.

God, does Galloway make our own representatives look mushmouthed and gutless.

but no mention on NYTImes. WEIRD!

More depressing than weird, actually. The most breathtakingly honest and passionate speech to happen in the Capitol in dogs years and not a word from legitamate news sources...

36. Maybe that's why I don't watch NBC and ABC news
Cause there's no news as far as they are concerned.

So, I'm not surprised.

During the primaries, there is a certain candidate that I really liked....and these same networks, never mentioned him either.
