FBI now says Mystery Grenade in Georgia was LIVE
http://msnbc.msn.com/id/7894828/

TBILISI, Georgia - The FBI on Wednesday said a grenade found amid the crowd during last week’s speech by President Bush in this former Soviet republic was capable of exploding.

The statement by agent Brian Parmen contradicted initial reports by Georgian officials that the grenade either was not in condition to explode or that it was a so-called “engineering grenade” that wouldn’t be fatal except at extremely close range.

Parmen also said the grenade had been thrown and fell on a girl in the crowd. That also was odds with statements by Georgian officials, who said it was not thrown.

Bush spoke to tens of thousands of people in Freedom Square, a main plaza in Tbilisi, the Georgian capital, on May 10. The crowd response was overwhelming favorable and Bush spoke in strong support of Georgia’s efforts at democratic development following the Rose Revolution of 2003.

2. *sigh* It's gotten to the point where unless I was actually
there and had the expertise to examine it myself I'm going to have to write it off as a non-event. I don't know what to believe in the media anymore. Georgians or the FBI. Now there is a dilemma.

6. Interesting response. Let me pose the following questions to you....
1. How come the FBI, with their vast resources, has failed to uncover even one valid suspect in the anthrax attacks?

2. Is it possible that the anthrax attacks originated from within the US Government as either a rogue operation or one that was sanctioned at the highest levels?

The only person the FBI did uncover has been completely ruined professionally even though no charges were ever filed against him.

7. Lets look at it this way...
Criminals attempt to hide their identity. This criminal is not stupid. He did not knock off a gas-n-go. He did everything possible to hide his tracks.

Do you know how many unsolved major crimes there are? Murders, bank robberies etc.... Even when we know who did it the manhunt can take years and years.

Real Law Enforcement is not like TV where every story is rapped up in a hour or less. Some cases take decades. If they have no leads or clues there is not much they can do.

Is it possible the attacks orignated in the US Government? Sure, it is also possible little green men from Mars are responsible. Either way I need proof before I start making such accusations.

8. Why did the White House go on Cipro?
Why did the White House go on Cipro Beginning September 11th, 3 full weeks before the first 'attack'?

Nearly a month before the first reported outbreak, White House officials start taking the powerful antibiotic Cipro to treat anthrax. By the end of the year it will be known that the Ames strain of anthrax used in the attacks against Sens. Leahy and Daschle was produced by CIA programs coordinated through Fort Detrick, the Batelle Memorial Institute and the Dugway Proving Ground.

FBI & BUSH ADMINISTRATION SUED OVER ANTHRAX DOCUMENTS

Judicial Watch Wants to Know Why White House Went on Cipro Beginning September 11th

What Was Known and When?
(Washington, DC) Judicial Watch, the public interest group that investigates and prosecutes government corruption and abuse, said today that it has filed lawsuits against the Federal Bureau of Investigation (“FBI”), the Department of Health and Human Services (“HHS”), the Center for Disease Control (“CDC”), the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (“USAMRIID”) and the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) for those agencies’ failures to produce documents concerning the terrorist anthrax attacks of October 2001, under the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act (“FOIA”).

14. You are over-complicating it
The investigation effectively stopped once it had been proven that the
strain of anthrax used in the "attacks" had been produced by a US Army
research lab.

End of line.

No further progress.

To return to your response:
> This criminal is not stupid. ...
> He did everything possible to hide his tracks.

This criminal used easily verifiable material that could have
no other source outside of a DoD-controlled supposedly secure site.
There is a finite (and fairly small) number of people able to extract
said material from said location in the timeframe concerned.

Either the criminal *was* stupid (i.e., didn't realise how the act
would be traced) or the criminal didn't care about being traced
(i.e., didn't need to hide any tracks as simply following orders).

The only thing "he" did was ensure that "he" was protected by the
US government at sufficiently high level as to prevent any chance
of an investigation revealing "his" identity.

(This criminal is not proven to be male either FWIW.)

No-one needs to invoke TV law enforcement and other strawmen.
Just look at the evidence already available.

11. Just another smokescreen
Our "brave" leader threatened by those who hate freedom.

I believe that there was a grenade but I also believe that the feds are milking this for everything its worth to help chimpy and his sagging poll numbers.

10. Exercise in futility
This whole thing was a sham from the get-go.

Now the FBI says it "had the potential to explode". What does that really mean? A full-fledged grenade? A homemade "potato masher"? or could it be one of those replica grenades that kids can put caps into?

Just like a Rovian plot, we can see through it, but the rest of the country who either likes Bush or accepts him as President is going to be gasping with horror that this happened and rally behind the President by putting a few more ribbon magnets or Bush fish on their vehicle.
