Forget that advise and consent, the republicans are spinning it from the advise and obstruct mode that they ran during the Clinton presidency's judicial picks into advise and rubberstamp territory now. Of course, when the democrats get back the White House the advise and rubberstamp function of Congress should come in handy in turning the courts back toward the middle ground that most of this country actually prefers...
today on C-Span2. When one of Frist's stand-in's was adjourning the Senate yesterday, he said that they would bring up the nomination of Prisilla (sp.) Owens today for debate. I will be watching.
posted by radfringe, the Senate will debate Owens for a couple of days. If that happens, the showdown will not take place until early next week. I was thinking that it would happen today. I guess not.
