here we go again!

A bill has been introduced in the Senate that would support the opposition in Iran. The legislation, termed the Iran Freedom and Support Act, would require that the United States work to ensure a referendum in Iran on the type of regime sought by the people.

The legislation was introduced by Sen. Rick Santorum, a Pennsylvania Republican and a member of the GOP leadership in the Senate. Santorum has served as chairman of the Republican Conference and the third-ranking member of the Senate Republican leadership.

In a statement, Santorum said Iran has been linked to strikes against U.S. military personnel in Saudi Arabia in 1996 and Al Qaida attacks against civilians in Saudi Arabia in 2004. The United States has never blamed Iran for Al Qaida's campaign in Saudi Araiba.

3. A round-about declaration of war?
Will they claim later that this piece of shit act was legal justification for war, say in June?

5. And they are having democratic elections on June 17
And everybody who is 15 and older can vote. Indeed every candidate needs to be approved by the Guardian Council first, but it is democratic elections

7. It depends on the spin they add to the story
Even if it is mentioned that there are democratic election they will add the point that all candidates need to be approved first. I don't know which candidate has the most chance of winning, but it probably the hardliners considering what is happening and that's another they are probably trying to prevent.

If this election is not mentioned or they'll add the "You are either with us or you are with the terrorist" stuff then it'll be quite a lot of support.

If signed into law, the bill would set in place standards that would make it more difficult for the government of Iran to have access to revenue and foreign investment that could be used to support terrorism and develop weapons of mass destruction. The legislation outlines that the sanctions the U.S. currently imposes shall remain in place until the president certifies that Iran "no longer poses a threat to the United States or its allies."

"It is important for our government to send a message of support and solidarity to the efforts by the Iranian people who wish to exercise self-determination over their own form of government," said Santorum. "This act will provide much-needed assistance for pro-democracy groups who are committed to advancing democratic ideals and principles despite living at the hands of a government that views freedom as a threat to their power."

Jerome Corsi is the author of "Atomic Iran" and founder of the Iran Freedom Foundation, a new nonprofit group that educates the American people about the urgency for supporting regime change in Tehran.

Corsi told WND: "What Senator Santorum is trying to do is to stimulate the development of opposition groups within Iran in the hopes that changes can occur in a peaceful way within the country, to have regime change occur so the mullahs are no longer in control."

========================================

This is not a new development, it's just seems to be getting some attention now.

It's one of the many ways we've been threatening Iran.

Edit: to add comment

9. Now we have something very interesting....
Are they in fact planning meetings with memos again, where the evidence is fixed around the policy?

I wouldn't be shocked of that fact. It appears IRAN has alot more oil, and religious backing that the U.S.A would love to and would live to exploit. It's certainly a central threat to the United States NeoCON Right-Wing supremists, I'm certain of that already.

11. Now I wonder where Sen Santorum gleaned this intelligence...and is it
Trust worthy? Seems like the Weapons of mass destruction that were said to be in Iraq was not there...why should we trust this Intel?

Downing St Memo, the intelligence was fixed. Who is to say it wont be again?

I don't think the global community will allow this administration another free pass on Preemptive strikes in "self-defense"

12. Of course they wouldn't, they would never allow it..
That would be why Donald Rumsfeld and Karen Hughes need the amazingly qualified John Bolton to be UN Ambassador. After a few coaching sessions, Bolton will tear apart the United Nations senate room and force an open declaration of war while the other ambassadors are embarassed by manufactured sex scandals. After all, we are the home of the free.

10. 1st Clue, "legislation was introduced by Sen. Rick Santorum"
nothing need more be said except, get ready.

Mom's and Dad's hold your children close, these people are coming for them to fight their wars for their profit. Get ready to stand.

Go to Santorum and ask him to serve or ask him if he will have his sons or daughters serve in the wars he believes we need to fight. If he goes and takes his family with him then okay, there must be a reason to "defend our shores" over in the "MID EAST".

My ASS!
