More in Miami on the Downing Street memo... or not!
So, I'm cruising thru DU this evening and come upon the following thread - http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=104x3677588 - and I figure I'll go check out Junior's poll numbers in Florida and add to the discussion.

So I hit the Herald first, do a quick search of "bush poll numbers" and come up with only one article - http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/news/columnists/11614743.htm. It doesn't appear to have much poll info in it, but WTF, I'm already here, let's just read it all.

<snip>

''Military action now seems inevitable,'' the author writes. ``Bush wanted to remove Saddam, through military action, justified by the conjunction of terrorism and WMD. But the intelligence facts were being fixed around the policy . . .''

That last phrase should alarm anyone who still believes that Bush's decision to invade Iraq was compelled by the available facts. This memo -- whose authenticity Blair has not challenged -- suggests that the policy decision was made first, and the ''facts'' were assembled later to bolster it.

There are other disturbing revelations -- for example, that the Bush administration originally intended to set the timeline for invasion into motion to influence the 2002 congressional elections, and that Blair and Dearlove realized they needed to find a justification for war because no viable case could be made for self-defense or humanitarian necessity.

You haven't seen much about this memo in the American media -- we're still disappointingly timid about challenging Bush -- though it's available online at http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,, 2087-1593607,00.html. But let me not raise my voice too loudly here -- if that will help encourage more Americans to check out the evidence and make up their own minds.

<end>

(I can't get the link in the article to work.)

Not bad, until you get to that last paragraph and realize that they're making excuses for NOT covering the memo. Three whole articles in the archives since 4/29, and and nothing within the last week except for this article.

Hey idiots, find your balls and start doing your fucking job!!!! Maybe if ALL of the media would give this thing the serious attention it deserves and raise their voices, the sheeple might wake up!

BTW, rather than just rant here, I've sent a letter to the Herald expressing my disappointment with their coverage of this memo.
