States working to block Real ID Act
I heard many states were getting ready to block the Real ID Act if it passed. I seem to remember somebody on here saying that Homeland Security Director Michael Chertoff might run around shooting all governors who oppose it since it puts him above the law. Actually, I don't think it would be such a bad thing if that happened. Then more people would see how crazy these people are. ;)

2. there will be a LOT of angry people
I can tell you that right now. I know of has four active, acceptable pieces of ID to get a DL with.

Look for your Secretary of State offices to jack up their renewal fees. Among many other things, RealID (wow, it kinda looks like RealPlayer when I put it that way, huh?) will make it more difficult for the poor to afford their licenses. Imagine that.

3. I told you that sucker would be an enormous bureaucratic mess
at the state level, and that they would be the ones fighting it.

The states don't want this garbage. They can't afford to create another huge bureaucracy to keep track of all the extra damn paperwork. They will fight it tooth and nail, and eventually even Scalia will realize it's unconstitutional.

4. The number one objection states have
Is that Bush and the Repug Congress left it unfunded.

So far 32 states have said they will not institute the law.
