Nightline doing Newsweek.
I'm not sure if this is a dupe.

Specifically, exactly what part of the story are you retracting?

They retract only that there was a gov't study confirming the Koran abuse.

Says the Pentagon reviewed their story and didn't "wave us off it." That there was plenty of opportunity to stop them from doing something that could have dangerous consequences.

1. I wonder if...
The rest of the media will make so bold as to report what they are saying?

2. Stressing that Newsweek took the step
(Mark Whitaker speaking for Newsweek) of letting the Pentagon see the ENTIRE article.

3. I liked that part.
Interviewer asked: "Did you specifically FLAG the part about Koran abuse?"

Newsweek: "The entire piece was 10 sentences long. The Pentagon read the whole thing, pointed out other things they took issue with, but not that."

But misusing the Koran to torture Muslims didn't.

Good perspective on things.

7. Everytime I've seen this guy (don't know his name) host NightLine
He has been a mouth piece for the WH. Like Chris Mathews tonight on Hardball, both shows had a fairly good introuctory piece by a reporter that told the REAL basic facts about the story, but when it came time for the interviews, their focus was on blaming Newsweek and completely disregarded the facts. Disgusting.
