Do you think prisoners were forced to use the Koran as Toilet Paper?

Given the reports that the U.S. had prostitutes trying to seduce prisoners, and women smearing menstrual blood on their faces, isn't it improbable that we would simply flush a Koran down the toilet (what kind of Toilet can do that!?). I believe what really happened is prisoners were forced to use the pages of the Koran as toilet paper, and THEN flush the pages down the toilet.

Is that what we're really talking about here?

1. I had wondered what was meant by "flushing down the toilet"
Were they ripping pages out and flushing them? Or, is it what you suggested?

Will we ever know?

3. What's the need to make shit up?
It's not like the reported truth isn't sufficiently incriminating.

4. The prisoners don't have toilets... They have slop buckets

Toilets... gasp, would be a luxury! Have you seen pictures of their cells? They're caged like animals.

According to other reports, the Korans were placed in those slop buckets.

5. i don't know
i find it hard to believe that someone who would be offended by flushing the koran would actually use the pages to wipe their ass.

i just don't see it as a realistic scenario.

i doubt a religious fundamentalist would doing any whiping with their holy book's pages.

8. It's not like toilet paper is required. I would imagine they don't get
to take showers too often. So why would they worry about cleaning that part of their body and desecrating the Koran at the same time?

Now I can see the US soldiers doing that.

Or buddha? Both sides should just calm down and stop getting hysterical. Both should learn meditation and calm.

Muslim world voices anger over alleged U.S. Koran desecration
By News Agencies

Several Palestinian Islamic groups in the Gaza Strip called for a boycott of products from the United States Saturday adding their voice to the Muslim world outrage over the alleged desecration of Islam's holy book, the Koran, by U.S. troops at the Guantanamo detention facility.

The Palestinian Religious Scientists Union based in Gaza called on Moslems around the world to demonstrate against the destruction and disrespect of the Koran by U.S. troops, who were accused of tossing the scriptures on the ground, trampling over them and using them as toilet paper.
