Yesterday, I heard the host and callers

of a right-wing radio show going on and on about how "Hollywood" and other media are destroying our nation. Whenever I hear this kind of talk, I always ask the question: "Why don't these folks start up their own movie studios/TV networks, etc.?".

Another topic this show got onto was "the attack on Christianity in America". I could be wrong, but if there was an attack on Christianity going on here, wouldn't there be churches burning and Christians by the thousands injured/dead?

1. I'm impressed you could listen to it.

I don't have the stomach for it. I get enough of it around the Thanksgiving table.

And yes, I've been hearing the "attack on Christianity in America" for decades now. I came prepared last year. I had a graphic photo of a concentration camp liberation and the first person who started in on the topic had it shoved in his face with me saying, "THIS is an attack on a religion now shut up." After that we had a pretty pleasant Thanksgiving believe it or not.

2. I have to listen to that kind of radio

in order to understand the Radical Right better. You see, I live in an area that is very blue. Even the Republicans around here are very moderate, so the nut cases pretty much stay undercover. A Santorum or a Delay couldn't make it here. The ONLY reason Hastert is still in office is because of the enormous amounts of pork he brings home to his district.

5. They have. There's CBN, "Left Behind" movies, etc.

You can see the fundie movies in the bargain bin at your Blockbuster because NOBODY LIKES THEM.

And as for the ultra-right-wing propaganda and cult network, CBN, their ratings alone wouldn't carry them, but luckily old con-man Pat Robertson has a few thousand blue-haired grannies gullible enough to donate and keep his sorry ass on the air.

Dish network.. not just up past PBS but down below channel 100 too.
