If so, this is a powerful statement from a Christian that needs to be heard and seen by the radical right out there. Can someone confirm this?

amidst one of the highest concentrations of black people in the US. East Texas during this time was overwhelmingly Southern Baptist and racist. The fact that he saw through this received culture and came to his conclusions is a minor miracle in itself.

If you watched the series he hosted with Joseph Campbell you would know quite a lot about his religious background. It will be interesting if PBS continues to use this series during their fund raising periods. It has been rebroadcast many times, and I always try to watch each segment. Maybe I better order the videos in case it gets blacklisted by Tomlinson.
