Official "Guy James Show" thread. Want some good radio for a change?
We have a lively show planned this evening from 7 to 10pm. Of course, its your calls that make a good show so please call in at 888-602-7500, 7501, 7502, 7503 or 7504. WINK 1240AM in Ft. Myers Florida and WNOG 1270AM in Naples, Florida.

Got lots of mail this week from local Dems telling me I had better be "nicer to Republican callers". What do you think? I think not! When callers show me respect they get the same thing back. I believe we lost this last election by being "nice". They also don't like the fact that I attacked Senator Bill Nelson because of his votes on Gonzales and Rice and, also, any Dem who voted for the bankruptcy bill. Hey, I calls'em like I see's em. No Party line here.

The "memo" is finally getting out a little bit. We will talk extensively about it and Bush's deserving to be impeached and imprisoned bacause of it. If we had a Congress with a conscience he would go to jail for leading us into this war with lies. I will never forgive him for this. Join us tonight!

1. Can't wait for the show!
I can't wait for the show. I'm staying in this evening so I'll get to listen to it all. I don't think you should be nice to rightwingers when they call into YOUR show and insult you etc. If they're nice to you then you should be nice but if they don't show you any respect I'd say fuck it. :) Oh and the Foo Fighters named their new album "In Your Honor" for John Kerry. :loveya: You can read about that in the JK forum. :)

2. Nicer to Reps?
Gee Guy. I thought you were nice to them. Usually you let them just hang themselves. If they don't like the way you handle the neo-con callers, they must really be upset with Mike Malloy. On the reaction to the memo, related is the ABC story saying they were not that interested in covering the war. It is time to just go out and sink the neo-con MSM. Sink it like a rat infested pirate ship.

4. You can't be nice to republicans! You have to hit them in the head
with a brick just to get their attention. All of them have been brainwashed to vote against their own best interests.

8. We must be our own journalists
The days of real journalism in the televised media is over. It died on 9/11/01. With access to wire services, alternative media and blogs. we have to inform each other as we do here on Democratic Underground. What is more, we need to be critical more than we are now of the MSM. It is obvious they are not getting the message, nor do they want to hear the message that they are obsolete.

9. Walter Reed
Technically they are not going to close Walter Reed, but a building a new hospital in Maryland. The structure is over 100 years old. They are going to lessen the number of beds though.

10. Walter Reed Medical Center on Pentagon Closing List
From this site

http://www.wgrz.com/news/news_article.aspx?storyid=28464

...If approved by a commission, Congress and the president, the plan would move some staff and services to an expanded medical center in nearby Bethesda, Maryland. Officials say the new facility on the campus of the National Naval Medical Center would get the Walter Reed name.....

I was in tears last Summer when George Bush refused to look at the letter Max took to him in Crawford. Max's fighting for disabled rights alone makes him a hero to be admired.

19. When I read about what they did to him
it was purely disgusting. I just couldn't believe it, but then again look at what they did to Kerry. I remember reading around the election an interview with Kerry's wife and she was asked why she left the republican party and she said because of how they treated Cleland. Simply disgusting. They only spout "support our troops" when they're off fighting. When one is running against an AWOL sob they don't give a damn. I also remember the whole "purple heart bandaid" shit they did to Kerry. God these people have no sense of shame.

21. Yes, that is true.
Not only disgusting, but downright cruel. All Bush had to do was to come out and take the letter, Not even agree with it. It would of defused some of the left wing sentiment against Bush... But No. He had his booted thugs come out, turn Max away. It was just plain cruel.
