Bumper Sticker: The Troops Need Phone Cards Not Magnetic Ribbons
I remember reading a thread a month or so back. Someone was talking to a soldier that had returned from Iraq. He asked the soldier what the troops needed. The soldier responded that they needed phone cards because of how expensive it was for them to call home.

So I have been thinking maybe someone can make these bumperstickers with a website on them that people can go to to donate for phone cards for the troops.

It is also an "in your face" to all worthless magnetic stickers everywhere you look.

What do you think?

3. I got one even BETTER
THE TROOPS NEED NON DEFECTIVE BODY ARMOR, NOT MAGNETIC RIBBONS. Tell your Representative TODAY!

This is a real issue, the INTERCEPTOR crap the USMC is wearing won't stop any kind of decent ammo--turns out that about 40K vests are bad. USMC has bitched, Pentagon is slow to fix.

5. "It Takes More Than A Yellow Ribbon"
That's the phrase I've been using ..

It seems to cause a spontaneous combustion thing
with them and leaves them speechless .

6. "Keep Your Ribbon- Send Me Your Son"
With a pic of Uncle Sam or Bush.

May work better as a shirt or billboard.

8. Good idea!
All of the ideas in this thread are great for bumper stickers. Here in good old Bush-lovin', troop-supportin' Colorado Springs, CO -- I think 9 out of 10 cars have the damn yellow ribbons and most have multiple ribbons. I am sure they are sold in a number of places but the only place I've ever seen them was good old Wal-mart (don't ask why I was there).

My husband's comment when he sees the ribbons: "Use the money to buy us armor instead of wasting it on a fucking magnet."

His parents were very proud to tell him that they put up an army flag in their yard and had a yellow magnet on their car while he was in Iraq. Oh, and they asked everyone to pray for him. He was more embarrased than anything. But, get this....

THEY DIDN'T SEND HIM A DAMN THING.
NOT EVEN A BIRTHDAY OR CHRISTMAS PRESENT.
ONLY ONE LETTER THE WHOLE YEAR.

And they wonder why he didn't call.
