Something I have noticed on MSNBC

On the news ticker that runs across the bottom, every few minutes it scrolls through this sentence: America on Alert.
Huh? Alert for what? Lions? Tigers? Vanilla Ice returning to the Billboard Top 50 list?

Who knows how long it has been there, but I've noticed it every day for the last 2 weeks. To me that is just asinine.

Anyone else here notice it & find it odd?

I've noticed something on the HLN ticker as well that hits me as odd - whenever they scroll the total number of US casualties in Iraq, it's immediately followed by "Terror Level Yellow/Elevated", as though to assure us that these deaths in Iraq are related somehow to fighting "terror". It's not very subtle, at least to me, but associating the two seems like complete manipulation.

I cant bring myself to watch Faux to see if they do it too. I imagine they do, and it's probably the most offensive of the bunch.

Those news tickers are probably the most effective form of psyops they have - you can listen to something and it might go in one ear and out the other, but if you stop and read the constant word association contained in these tickers, as well as the hot button words - alert, terror, attack, etc. - over time they'd really have an effect on you, unless you are aware of what they're doing.

It's a good topic to bring up. It would be an interesting study to see just how often these tickers use these key words and associations.

9. I was thinking the same thing.

For a week we should all keep track of things like this- news tickers, on line news alerts etc. If we could compile it all in one place, how much propaganda would we find they force-fed us in 7 days?

The essence of mind control is thoughtlessness, repetition of the message and focusing the mind.

Since a news ticker scrolls it focuses the mind (the same with flashing pictures - I usually have the animated GIF/Flash/ActiveX disabled since they are usually ONLY used for ads with the exception of smileys), so that's the first point

The second point is to repeat and that is exactly what this story is about. Run the same words over and over again.

The third point is thoughtlessness. A state of daydreaming where you are not actively thinking, but more or less observing. And that it is what happens frequently when you watch television since you are being entertained and the mind doesn't need to work.

So it meets with the three basic criteria for mindcontrol. And it's really effective as well even though you don't notice it, it'll program the message in...

I can only take so much of the White House TV channel. I wish they would FIRE Chris Matthews. I can't stand him and the idiot anchors they have on there.
