"Closing bases to save money"..... SINCE WHEN?
Edited on Fri May-13-05 07:04 PM by Bluebear
All of a sudden the Republicans become fiscally responsible? Bush spends money like a drunken chimp for five years and NOW they think about saving money?

This base-closing stunt will save ONE-QUARTER of what the Congress passed in Iraq spending THIS WEEK ALONE.

I ain't buyin' it. There is always another motive with this crowd. Like bribing Senators Snowe and Collins of Maine to vote for the Social Security "modernization" for instance, hmmmm? And why is Connecticut being targeted so hard?

Why are we spending money in the Middle East and not at home? Something stinks.

1. That's right, all our money is going overseas
To Iraq, although I am not sure for what? When do we get a breakdown of the actual costs?

2. How much would you wager that there is more than a 'breakdown' of actual
costs going on? They have a teat caught in the wringer and are bound and determined to call it YOUR teat!

base closures are:

punishment for their political enemies

setups for their allies to save their bacon at teh last minute.

7. Connecticut Targeted
Our state of Connecticut was smart enough not to vote for Bushy and now he wants to get even with us. Too bad the rest of the country was not as smart as CT and voted that idiot out of office.

8. I think he is trying to pressure Joementum to vote with him
on Social Security "modernization". Trade a vote for keeping Groton open.

9. Middle East oil means more to them than American lives.
These base closings are the latest example of how the supposed "He's not the greatest but he sure knows how to defend us" president :eyes: hasn't a clue or a damn about us.

It's all about the money and what makes money.

What else is new.
