Here's the latest on what's going on in Central Asia (the stans)
I heard this report his morning...it's not very long but is crammed with info about the stability of the regimes in the area.....Well worth the listen...

The former Soviet republics of Central Asia share common problems of ethnic tension, authoritarian government and social unrest.

The security organisation for Europe and the former Soviet Union, the OSCE, is trying to bring democracy and peaceful change to the region.

How effective can it be when popular unrest thwarts its plans and when governments refuse to follow OSCE rules they themselves have signed up to?
