Freepers are getting mighty violent these days.
Last night a poster posted that she was almost ran off the road by a freeper. Well my appologies because I didn't believe her but the samething just happened to me. Here's the story my mom and I got lost for my therapist office today and she finally decided to stop in a shopping lot to ask for directions.
Any how this really nice woman give us the information and we started to pull out of the parking lot. Now while this was going I had Elton John's Peachtree Road album going.

So anyhow this pick up truck with a big support the troops sticker on it, a pro life licnse plate ,and a Jethro4W sticker on the back of his truck as well. I kid you not a Jethro for w sticker. Anyhow he cuts my mom off the road and than yells at us "We dont want any queer lovers in this town." Than Jethro burns rubber out of the lot.

Anyhow I made a report to the police and the officer taking down the report gave me a less than enthusatic we'll look into it bit. So to my fellow liberals I just want to say becareful. These people are fricking nuts.

1. My husband and I play a game
when someone has been rude in traffic, we look to see what bumper stickers are on the vehicle. It seems that it's always a Republican sticker of some kind or no stickers at all. We are going on a long trip next week, God willing. I plan to keep up the game and see if our theory holds true in states other than Arkansas and Missouri.

12. I play that game too!
Here in Massachusetts, it plays the same. Asshole drivers "generally" sport a W04 sticker or some other right-wing crap.

14. I'm in suburban Boston and frankly I think that poor,rude driving
is an "equal opportunity" sport around here. Democrats and Republicans alike.

Most out of staters are horrified by Boston drivers.

We looked for mass plates on cars with (m)asshole drivers.

2. well, let the policeman know it's a matter of public safety
and if the guy escalates that behavior or does something that results in someone's injury or death, the newspaper will certainly want to know exactly what the police did about it the FIRST time it was reported.

and I am terrified over the nature of discourse in this country. I guess I was lucky in a way I had parents that taught me in the golden rule. To bad the freepers never had that kind of "religous" upbringing no?

5. lot's of anger.
My Republican friends like to argue and they want to know why a don't want to any more.

You see I don't mind arguing on the merits of different views but we never start at that point. It's strange but it normally starts with a very violent " gad damn Democrats..." that is the starting point and so basically you need to spend the first five minute convincing someone that the Dems are not trying to destroy the country.

It's very strange, and unnerving. I guess it's the hate radio whipping up the frenzy.

8. They Start On Another Planet
You have to bring them to this one before you can even try to discuss any controversial topic with most Repugnicans these days.

Yes, hate radio has a lot to do with it, IMHO, as I hear so many of the daily talking points with all the buzzwords coming out of these people's mouths without them understanding a word they just said. They'll throw around "liberal" to mean dogshit and then recite the litany of lies they've swallowed from Rushbo or Hannity or Savage and feel they've got the final word.

Usually I don't even go near these people or just ask them a question that usually embarasses them or lets them hang themselves on their own hypocrisy...and, of course, they're so kool-aided they can't see it, but others can, and that's all that matters.

Every now and then I spoil the vent on some poor wingnut. A message board or chat room comes in handy to pound some dittohead into a total Clinton-hate rant frenzy or call me every evil name he/she can think of. I figure once they're pissed, I get the popcorn and see how more honked off I can get them.

Cheers.

I guess it's the hate radio whipping up the frenzy.

There's a post from a person who used to be a Republican but changed after his wife simply asked him WHY. Listen to callers on C-Span, for instance, and listen for the rational argument to support a position. Many conservatives have had their politics digested and regurgitated down their dittohead throats. Few of them can tell you why you should support their position. They usually resort to hurling slogans about Socialists and Commies or about the Right's supposed moral superiority. And the thing is, that actual Republicans (as opposed to the dupes of the neocon fascists) have many good arguments. I have a lot of respect for Republicans who can articulate their positions. I just despise the lazy forkers who don't know they're being used.

10. I had a similar experience b4 the election here in So Cal...
We were out to dinner one Friday night about 8 months before the November election. In the same center as the restaurant was a nightclub and the headliner that night was a country rock group. We parked in the lot as we always do, not thinking anything of our John Kerry for President bumper sticker on the rear bumper. Well, wouldn't you know when we came out and backed our car up we realized we had a flat tire. We found that someone had placed very large industrial size razor blades into the treads of our left rear tire, on the same side as our John Kerry sticker.

Nice people these Bushies... yeah they follow the golden rule.. no wonder they want the Ten Commandments placed in public places, they seem to have trouble distinguishing between right and wrong and need a public reminder!

15. Dan, I was the one nearly run off the road last night.
I know that you now realize what I said was true but I wanted to say thank you for not attacking me and saying I was lying. One thing that separates us from the thugs is that we at least try and respect each other. It was a very trying time last night and I came here for refuge. Thanks for not taking that away from me.

Now onto you. I am so sorry that that happened and it seems to be happening to more and more people. Please, all of you, be careful. I wrote a letter to the editor this morning telling people to call the cops RIGHT AWAY. Don't try to confront these people, some of them may have guns or may even try to run you over. I swear a lot of them are emotionally disturbed. Just get the plates and call the cops and please stay safe. We can not let these people get the best of us and I do not want to lose anyone.

The cops may not take this seriously now but it is being noticed more and more and they will soon have to start taking action. All of these things should be reported because we just may be saving someone else's life.

Dan, I am glad you are safe.

20. Freepers almost killed my children and I about 5 years ago.
Driving my van at night with all kinds of librul stickers on it, they tried to run me off the road into a cement wall on I-5 between Tacoma and Seattle where there was almost no shoulder - twice. The second time I had to cut sharp and the van went up on two wheels about 3 ft from the wall and we did some major fishtailing. It was almost a miracle that we did not crash.

I know it was intentional, because they tried twice. I got the license plate number, called the cops, and they did absolutely nothing about it.

threaten legal action against the department and begin speaking to a lawyer if needed. What was done to you was a violent act and that kind of thing cannot be ignored.

In another forum, the Bush-God fanbois are beginning to label people reporting and discussing all of the latest attacks as traitors and supporters of the terrorists.

24. Texas bill would charge person w/ felony for "road rage" fatal accident
Texans who drive while angry and cause a fatal accident would face felony charges under a bill preliminarily approved Monday in the House.

The bill, sponsored by state Rep. Elvira Reyna, R-Mesquite, would require a judge or jury trying a case involving a deadly accident to decide whether the driver engaged in "aggressive driving." Brandishing a weapon while driving, intentionally causing a vehicle to collide with another or scaring another driver would classify as aggressive driving under the bill.

26. I just had to add something else.
When you google 'kill liberals' you can come up with some interesting stuff including:

http://www.irregulartimes.com/rightwingstuffviolence.html

<snip>

There are plenty of other slogans inciting political violence on the Rightwingstuff shop. To the left, you see one of the more threatening of these items. The donkey in this image is, of course, the mule that represents the Democratic Party. So, just as the Got Milk? ad campaign encouraged Americans to drink milk, the Got Ammo? graphic that Rightwingstuff places on bumper stickers, t-shirts, mugs and even baseball caps is telling Republicans that they ought to go out, get some ammunition for their guns, and then take aim at Democrats. The simple message put out by this item from Rightwingstuff is: Kill Democrats.

<snip>

As these items show, the owners and creators of the Rightwingstuff online store are telling conservatives to attack liberals by beating them with clubs and setting them on fire. There is a veneer of humor, as some play with words is used in the slogans, but such simple linguistic cleverness forms only a very thin mask on a very violent command: Attack, attack, attack!

<snip>

Selling items that tell you to kill liberals may seem like a joke to some but when you have been attacked by a freeper, all of a sudden it just does not seem funny at all. All of a sudden you wonder who is listening to this type of thing and how many are taking the message to heart.

After my experience, I truly believe these people are dangerous.
