3. That's because Kerry looks at reading as a wonderful gift...
...a discovery that should be shared, while it is obvious that Bush considers it a chore.

Look at how Bush is sitting. Stiff as a board, and he looks bored! As do the kids... it's just a drill; it's 'hard work that needs to be done.'

Kids know intuitively how people feel about things, and if they sense that the adult is totally excited about something, they become excited too.

5. He also (and this is key) genuinely likes people, including children,
instead of seeing them as lesser beings to be dominated or feared.
