Do watch any shows on CNN, if you do which ones?
I know CNN is starting to get a little obsurd but do you continue to watch any of the shows on there? I usually catch Lou Dobbs, and some times Anderson Cooper (different type of news) and I'm ashmed to say it but when I watch the news I'll watch Aaron Brown (only if I miss Olbermann that night).

2. May I ask what you do watch?
I should have asked this in the original post. I simply don't really see a better alternative. Cable news seems to have been taken over completely by the right and the only escape from that is Olbermann. Other than that I have to watch CNN as opposed to MSNBC or Fox.

21. CSPAN and the middle of the night CBS news broadcast.
Edited on Thu May-12-05 10:38 PM by CottonBear
You have to be awake at 3 in the morning to see it. It is better than all of the other US MSM news. Other than that, I read the BBC website, the Guardian, other British newspapers, Al Jazeera, Raw Story, NewsHounds, Media Matters, and the Australian and Kiwi papers. I watch the CSPAN broadcasts of Canadian, Italian and Russian newscasts along with (UK) Prime Minister's Questions.

5. I stopped watching CNN Nov 3rd 2004, the only time I even peek

is if there is Breaking News (and I'm not talking about Celebrity Trials). We occasionally watch Olbermann and regularly watch the fake news on The Daily Show.

8. Watch Or Just Check Out?
I used to watch CNN 25-8! I lived on every word of Bernie Shaw and Lou Waters. Seems like light years ago.

This network has gone to hell since 2000...when they started feeling competition from Faux and found that if it bleeds it leads. Starting then, I became very aware of a sensationalistic that has trended into a right wing bias on that network. So much so, I call it CNNServative now. It is a major diservice as it pretends to be "credible" and constantly uses the word "trust" in their promotions, yet they hire goons like Zahn, Kagan (Mrs. Limbaugh), Novak and others that are spewing Rove's stalking points unfiltered.

I now just check out certain shows like Dobbs (when he's not on an anti-immigrant rant) and some of Crossfire or what Judy Woof-Woof and the Wolfman have to spin...so I can get the latest Rove talking points. It's totally lost my trust and is just slightly better than Faux...which doesn't say much.

Thanks for your post.

9. Sometimes I watch Lou Dobbs and part of Anderson Cooper.
And occasionally the headline news. Otherwise, unless there is a major, ongoing catastrophe, I don't.

I try to catch Keith Olbermann and The Daily Show. And sometimes I get up early to watch Washington Journal or its' rerun. And C-Span has some interesting programs and events. If I could find out say when the New America foundation has a panel, I would be happy. But I don't know if C-Span has those kinds of things posted at their web site. Usually, I just happen on them serendipitously.

I would far rather watch Queer Eye than Wolf Blitzer.

11. Can't tolerate CNN any longer.....
It's been a channela-non-grata for quite some time in this house! It was hard to tear myself away from the likes of Daryn Kagan, Lou Dobbs and oh yeah, the ubiquitous, vaccuous Wolf Blitzer, but I did it and I'm a better person today. :-)

20. None on Corporate News Networkkk
Tweety's on in the background, KO afterwards & The Daily Show.

If I'm really in a mood to get pissed off I might go for for about 15 minutes of Insannity. I have lot's of CDs & DVDs DU & the Internets to supply my need for news.
