I've been trying to decide if today was a good day or not
I had some errands to do in nearby town.
While in the parking lot, I see this car that was PLASTERED with bumper stickers.
I am curious if it was another DU'er, but here in a parking lot in a very red town was this car that had at least 30 liberal bumper stickers. A definite .
Then I was talking with a young college student. The topic got around to the events of the day. She seemed interested in being an activist not because she was completely involved in the issues, but because she knew that things weren't right. I gave her the name of a few news sources to get involved with and learn about our country.
I mentioned the memo and a few other things and even though she reads CNN, she had never heard of them. She is now going to do some research. Another definite .
I'm totally down with the events at DU over the past few days. It's been a total joykill to find out that a troll can disrupt a phenomenal feat accomplished by the members here. I suppose the disillusionment will fade at some point.
I was also directed to a website that basically monitors our website.
It's kind of creepy to think you are posting to people of like minds and then find out that we are being ripped to shreds by a bunch of redneck illiterate Jethro's elsewhere. I suppose they also peep on their neighbors. Go ahead cretins--post this on your site. One of you will probably get a woody from being mentioned. But you guys suck--but you already know that.:thumbsdown:
However, through all of the events of the past few days, I still believe in DU. I still believe in Skinner and I still believe in Andy. I'm still glad I found this place.:)
Needless to say I will not head over to that other place again...totally bad karma and a real inside look at exactly what is wrong with our country and it ain't pretty. Almost takes away hope because morons like this pervade our entire country.
Anyway...end of rant.... Have a great day and just love each other.:)
