My letter to my local teevee station
On Tuesday I sent The Baltimore Sun an e-mail asking where their in depth coverage of the UK memo was. No answer yet.

Today I called the local CBS affilliate, WJZ and spoke with someone in their newsroom. I asked the same question. I was told they had not, but that the network did. I was then told they were busy as they were about to go on the air.

Not satisfied with the politely given but woefully inadequate answer, I dashed this snarky gem off to them.

I just spoke by phone with someone in your newsroom. My question was whether or not you had covered the story of the memo out of the UK government. This, as you no doubt know, is the memo in which high officials in the British government state very clearly that the US's reasons for war with Iraq would be 'fixed' to match the desire to do so. This memo was written a significantly long time before the war was sold to the American public.

Whoever I spoke to in your newsroom told me that WJZ had not, but that the network (CBS) did.

That strikes me as odd. The recent "Runaway Bride" story was covered by WJZ.

It must have been a matter of a slow news day vis a vis a busy news day. At least that is my assumption. Keep up the good work. It is, no doubt, being noticed where it needs to be noticed.

Oh wait. Maybe there are issues with the strike pattern of the typewriter used to write the memo. Or not. That's already been used by CBS.

A reply to this obviously angry viewer would be most appreciated
