The situation in Iraq is ever spiralling out of control. Where the hell is the media? If you listened to the MSM and the Bush administration, they would have you believe that we are winning the peace and securing democracy.

I hear talk of insurgency counter attacks. Let's just examine that, that means the insurgents attacked, were repelled and then reorganized and attacked again or it means that they were merely attacked and were strong enough to mount an attack themselves. Either way it means that they are a formidable adversary who doesn't merely break up when the shit hits the fan. This says to me that they are strong in their convictions and wouldn't they be? A foreign invader has occupied their land.

It sounds to me that most U.S. military believes that this is a war being fought for oil interests and elite corporatists back in the States. Their morale is shot. This is going to get a whole lot worse before it gets to anything even resembling peace. I foresee a Saigon like pull out within three years.
