An idea I have
I was recently talking to someone about the Real ID act and found information at cnet.com and one question about the ID act was if any republicans voted against it. Only three did in the house. According also to CNET this will be in effect in three years so next year is very important for us and we can use the Real ID act for campaigning and telling how the republicans want to spy on you etc. I was thinking last night in bed and my idea is maybe we can spread it around that these three republicans voted against this act and maybe they can possibly help us and get them on board with Conyers' investigation on the Iraq memo. We have seen massive Email, fax, and phone campaign's work. Look at what happened with Boxer and Ohio. The three republicans who voted against the Real ID act were:

Howard Coble of North Carolina
John Duncan of Tennessee
Ron Paul of Texas.

Paul even warned about the real ID act and he said: The Real ID Act "establishes a national ID card" and "gives authority to the Secretary of Homeland Security to unilaterally add requirements as he sees fit."

So this is a very dangerous thing and these three were the only one's who voted against it. We may not agree with everything with them but I think we can work together if we want to save our country. Just an idea and a thought.

1. Good idea it will

be interesting to see how it goes, as Blair wants to introduce compulsory biometric ID cards into this country too, under the pretence of the fight against terror.

ID cards and a citizens database will only be used for; monitoring, controlling, and coercing the population.

As far as i can tell State ID and identification has only ever been used for oppression.

Nazi Germany, Rwanda, Argentina, Burma, Cambodia, China, Soviet Union...........

I know not of one instance ever it has been used to prevent terrorism or crime.

2. Ron Paul is a maverick, not a GOP mouthpiece.
And he's a true Texan whose hand I'd be happy to shake.

try to get people to Email and get in touch with these three republicans. Since they voted against the real ID act from this it seems like they'd be willing to work with other's on the other side of the isle. Conyers obviously has the power of persuation because he got Boxer to stand up at the Ohio electoral votes. If enough people are interested maybe it could work. If a republican Texan goes against Bush then all I have to say is: wow.
