so let me get this straight (yesterday's scare in DC)
yesterday's "terror" scare in DC was severe enough to raise the threat level to red, evacuate the Capitol and White House, move Cheney to a "secure location", and scramble fighters and Blackhawk helicopters to intercept it . . . yet it wasn't important enough to disturb * while he was taking a bike ride in the middle of a work day?????? :wtf:

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=578&u=/nm/20050512/ts_nm/security_bush_dc_1

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Bush was not told for nearly an hour while he finished a bike ride about a breach in White House airspace on Wednesday that prompted the highest alert since the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, the White House said.

15. Then he should be removed from power
the USA needs a real President. We are falling apart because of his severe lack of judgment. Once again he proves his incompetence. And once again the WH proves that this is all bullshit.

Has he left instructions not to be interrupted with his bike riding, even for family emergencies? By the by - has anyone heard where the twins are summering? have they zipped back to Old Urup? They did like the South of France.

20. I know -- that's what got me, too
Our local progressive talk show in the a.m., Nancy Skinner, was talking about this today. It's what she find the most interesting thing about the whole day, and I have to agree. Makes a stronger case for the fact that he's just a figurehead.

21. figurehead? Nah, Reagan was a figurehead. He looked the part, and
he could read the teleprompter and make you believe that he believed it. I'm not sure what * is, but I know figureheads, and he's no figurehead.

24. figured that
hence the terror was in quotes in my OP - never actually thought this was a real danger more than it was an errant pilot and the GOP and Faux needing to generate a new "news" story to deflect attention away from all the real problems . . .
