Bush Literally Lied to Start His War
Last week Britain was rocked by a leaked memo, written 8 months before the invasion of Iraq by the director of British intelligence, Richard Dearlove, stating that the "intelligence and facts were being fixed around the policy" toward Iraq.
There has been virtually no mention of this in the mainstream media, particularly the broadcast media.
Is this what we've come to?
Has our country become so jaded, unconcerned and corrupted that we would allow our President to lie to us in order to start a pointless war for his own benefit, resulting in thousands of dead American children, hundreds of billions of dollars wasted, our military tied up and distracted from the very important task of protecting us from Osama bin Laden, and our good country's name soiled permanently? I remember being taught in school that this is the most heinous thing a president could possibly do.
Have we become so corrupted that our media don't believe that the American people would even care about this?
Wasn't there a time when we expected justice from our leaders, and real information from news outlets? It seems like so long ago. Was it the media who changed, or the people?
If I remember correctly, the Pantagraph supported Bush's re-election.
Thanks a lot, Pantagraph. You've given us a lot to be proud of, as Americans. A real reason to believe in our country.
