Leviticus Nation of Oklahoma
To anyone living in Oklahoma, I'm so sorry. ::::

http://www.channeloklahoma.com/news/4471869/detail.html?subid=22100424&qs=1;bp=t

No freedom of expression. That's all that is. Oklahoma is just a hotbed of steaming priests who would love nothing more to see a stoning. As I drove through Oklahoma on the way to California, I was wondering why they were staring in awe at my Buddhist-influenced tats. It was because I broke 2000 years of taboo.

1. There have been tat shops here for years
even though they are illegal.

Thanks for the sympathy. My move to crazy red f*cking JOklahoma was job related. I've now been a jobless schmuck for longer than I want to admit after the company that approached and recruited me liad off over 30% of its workforce. Someday soon I aspire to moon the Tulsa city limit sign on my final trip out of town. I will always consider JOklahoma - and Tulsa in particular - the armpit of the Bible Belt.

4. I had a guy I went to college with from there...
and I was speaking politics with him. He wanted to fight me once he found out I was liberal and was voting for Howard Dean. The guy absolutely went nuts. He said something to the effect of "How dare you cross your fuckin' president like that, do you know what he's done for you?" I didn't push his buttons, because it was pointless. Once people like this are let out of their holding cell (Oklahoma,Kansas,Pan-Handle Texas), That's when we have problems arise. It's called spread of influence.

2. Wah, if you don't want a Tat, don't get one, if you're afraid
your kid will, well, deal with it, I'd be more concerned they are operating a healthy establishment.

5. Yeah, me,too. (Sigh)
I've almost reached the point of being afraid to speak in public. I'm afraid my political views will get me beaten. Literally. The fact that I know something about grammar sets me apart anyway. I think I must visibly cringe when I hear the oft used "I seen" and "He done it", not to mention the other horrible assaults on the English language that one cannot escape here. They KNOW I'm NOT one of them!

7. When you are "afraid" to speak in public...
Thats when we should speak in public, but en masse. By no means am I an expert on the demography of Oklahoma, but I know, just by intuition that there is some more people out there with a common set of beliefs. Take to the street! Show the Hokies that you are a human, and you have your own beliefs. That's the way I roll, no matter the consequences. I get in trouble for it due to my surroundings, but hey, at least they know where I'm coming from.

10. It is legal in every state in the US except Oklahoma
I think that's what they said on the "news" tonight when covering this.

11. Ok
So belay the last message. Regardless of where it is legal, this is redundant. This is almost like saying "You can have sex with a prostitute, but there will be no clean facilities, and no laws regarding testing her/him for diseases."Hmmm, wheres the logic in that. I can get one, but it will be semi-legal.Remind me to never even so much as drive through Okiehoma again.

12. Did you happen to stop anywhere on your drive through?
I was driving from Tulsa to Norman not too long ago and decided to take the scenic route. I foolishly got off the Turner Turnpike and on Route 66. I had to stop for gas in some little town. Really frightened me. The gas station was apparantly the local hangout. It was similar to that bar scene in Star Wars. I wasn't sure what species some of those folks belonged to. I got back on the Turnpike as quickly as possible and fled the area.

13. I stopped in Norman for Two Days
For a meteorlogical convention. I then turned to one of my buddies that is working their under contract from the Navy, and I asked him, how do you take it here? He said quote...

"Read the Bible, Missionary, and don't get caught at the beer joint."

Enough said, I'll be leaving now. So I went to get in my car and I noticed I was low on gas. So I pulled into a little BP on the outskirts of "Normal" and the clerk said "that'll be 30 bux, by tha way, where you from boy?" Well sir I'm from Tennessee, I replied, but i'm in the Navy." The guy jumped out of his seat and saluted me, and said "God is by my side." I replied, "I'm Buddhist, so more than likely he isn't". I got a stare to kill, and I eased out with no words said.

That's my Okiehoma experience.

14. Sharia Law comes to the Heartland
This is the same band of regressive imbeciles that gave us recurring polio epidemics and women being stoned in Nigeria; our version just happens to be Christian, which means you'll be lucky to be burned to death without prior torturing. Shitheads abound.

15. I'm going to guess this is on the books because it originated in racist
regulations against the practices of Native Americans. I just can't believe OK has a "tatoo law". Dear God. Sometimes something comes along and shows me Nebraska isn't quite as bad as I thought.
