4. Should the dems just roll over?
Edited on Wed May-11-05 08:48 PM by sweetheart
Would that be better strategically?

I'm for whatever REALLY works, not bandaid measures.

Being just a party of opposition is no victory... it is relegation,
as much as that is a minor victory of conscience.

13. Sounds great
I'm sure the torys feel the same way in britain.

Its fun to be elected to be a historical, unmemorable placeholder
remembered only by the actions of those who you're paid to stumble
and trip. Sounds like a victory, being the party of no. Well, if its
come to that, then... cool... i guess.

No. no bush. no . It is indeed how i feel, but i was kinda hoping
the democratic party had a direction... but then again, a donkey is
famously stubborn, and perhaps just standing still is all that one
can expect.

No.

Yes to war, but no to judges. Yes to billions for armed occupation,
and yes to real id, but no to bankrupcy reform that passes anyways.
Yes to the war on drugs, but no to overpriced drugs. Yes to some
corporations, but no to ones who contribute to the opposition.

Perhaps its the job of the placeholders in the congress, to make us
think their jobs are important, rubber stamping the war(s), and the
destruction, voting no, and making a piss so we remember them and
keep voting the party line.

And gosh, the slope is so slippery, coated with teflon, and that
feeling of sliding downhill in to the cespool we've helped create
over the years.... but no... remember us and keep voting the party
line.... opposition rocks.

:-)

14. Democrats should immediately counter with "Just Say No to..." ad
Edited on Wed May-11-05 09:11 PM by NAO
The Democrats should immediately counter with an ad that utilizes the old Nancy Reagan "Just Say No" slogan, combined with things the Democrats are saying NO to:

Just Say No...to Burying our Children in Debt

Just Say No...governement interference in end of life decisions

Just Say No...to unnecessary wars of choice

Just Say No...to the Republican power grab

Just Say No..."fixing" Social Security

Just Say No...government handouts to Drug Companies

& etc.

15. Absolutely! Great idea!
They should be on the phone now setting up the meeting for first thing in the morning. Hey, the Republicans are giving us a great start on this on, and we should get a discount because we have a slogan. Can we use the same song? It's just perfect. :)

16. Just think of the possibilities
The Dems could run a counter ad.

Scene 1 - A womans self-defense class where the woman is fighting off her attacker screaming NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Scene 1 - Same woman walking in a park carrying a bag that's labeled Social Security. A person in a GOP t-shirt runs up and attacks the woman trying to take her bag (Social Security) The woman screams NOOOOOO! The man runs off scared.

Scene 3 - Black screen with white writing. The Democratic Party of NO!

LOL!

23. The keepers of the sacred words. I could live with that.
Voice over: Meanwhile, King Arthur and Bedevere, not more than a swallow's flight away, had discovered something.
Knights of Ni: Ni! Ni! Ni! Ni! Ni! Ni!
Arthur: Who are you?
Knight of Ni: We are the Knights who say..... "Ni"!
Arthur: (horrified) No! Not the Knights who say "Ni"!
Knight of Ni: The same.
Other Knight of Ni: Who are we?
Knight of Ni: We are the keepers of the sacred words: Ni, Ping, and Nee-womm!
