1. and did they mention anything about State not giving up the records?
Didn't Biden threaten to postpone the vote unless Condoskeezza and co. cooperated?

6. Let's hope the Dems don't fold on this one too.
I don't trust the democrats much more than I do the rethugs. They just voted unanimously with the thugs to give 82 BILLION FUCKING DOLLARS to keep the illegal war going.

12. Rove's on the phone now: "John, you're going to have to withdraw"
Even if he's confirmed, the story about his wild past isn't going away. It'll be embarrassing for the WH to have a guy at UN with that much baggage (potential blackmail?).

Why won't they televise their orgies? :sarcasm:

4. larry flynt has some goods on bolton. ed schultz just announced
Edited on Wed May-11-05 03:25 PM by caligirl
that Larry Flynt is saying Boltons first wife was forced to engage in group sex. Larry says Bolton use to hang out in some wild club in NY in the 70's and 80's.

I wish he had stuff like this on bush. But isn't just grand that Bolton might get confirmed in spite of a horrible record, except now tawdry sex capades he engaged in and forcing his wife to engage in group sex could derail this.

16. This sounds familiar...
"...tawdry sex capades he engaged in and forcing his wife to engage in group sex...:

That sounds an awful lot like a recent would-be Republican Senator from Illinois.

23. Exactly
After Ryan's scandal came out, the RNC dropped him like a hot potato. But it seems like Congressional Republicans are giving their unconditional support to Bolton only because he's the man that * wants. Why the double standard?

7. Stop 20 random people on the street and ask them
what they think about John Bolton.. I would bet money that at least 15 of them will ask if he's still making CDs or give you a "whaaaaah" look and have NO clue who he even is..

WE are tuned in, but most people are only thinking about how they can make a little money, or whether to go to Jack in the Box or mcDonalds:eyes:

8. Well, I'm still not convinced he will be, but if he is, I can't wait to
see how he embarrasses the administration in the face of the World! I realize Shrub likes to reward his buddies, but I would think he should be careful what their actions might do to him!

10. The problem is that Bolton will embarrass the US to the rest of the world
but Bush supporters will view Bolton's temper tantrums as the Bush Admin strong arming the U.N.. Remember Bush supporters hate the U.N. and anyone railing against it is a "patriotic" American in the view.

11. CONFIRMED tomorrow?
Are you saying that PBS is reporting that he will be voted out of the committee AND then the nomination will move to the floor TOMORROW for a vote? I can't believe that. So, if they really said he'd be CONFIRMED tomorrow, they are really showing their ignorance.

22. I've heard that, too.
From multiple sources. They want the post filled and they want it filled by him. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if they had the floor vote tomorrow. At least, that's what they've got planned.

Anyone taking bets about whether or not Cheney will be presiding tomorrow, just in case?

13. Anyone think he was involved with kids from Nebraska?

A comment from the raw story article said what I was asking myself.

"Group sex may be continuing with Bolton, Jeff Gannon, Rove, McClellan, Norquist, and the other Closet Queens with open access to the White House. Wanna bet that those group sex parties in the 80s did not include kids from Boy's Town, Nebraska?"

24. Maybe a confirmation of Bolton would be a good thing in the long run.
If reports about his "unorthodox" sex life (i.e. forcing the little missus to have group sex, etc.)are legitimate, how's this going to play with the fundies? Isn't there a point where they stand back and say, "Whoa . . . this isn't what we voted for," and reconsider the voting booth lever? Just a thought. (P.S. I'm not a convert. Bolton is the worst possible candidate for the UN.)

27. They mean the committee vote
Then he has to come to the full Senate, where dems can publicly tear him apart and humiliate the rethugs. I think they dems knew about Flynt and decided to let it go to the floor where all the dirty linen will be aired publicly, not behind committee doors.

If I were the rethugs, I would delay the vote. But you know those sleazebags.
