Very bad journalism
http://www.cnn.com/2005/US/05/11/evacuation/index.html

A security alert prompted the evacuation of parts of the White House and U.S. Capitol today. "Run, this is no joke, leave the grounds," a U.S. Secret Service agent told CNN White House Correspondent Suzanne Malveaux. An all-clear announcement was issued a few minutes later. Two F-16 aircraft were spotted in the air above the Washington D.C.-area.

Goes without saying from CNN, right? A journalist should never, ever, be apart of the story they are covering. Such action lends to the appearance of the media actually manipulating or creating news events. It is the worse thing a journalism outfit can do and contributes to questions of their credibility. It is rather commonplace today. When did journalists for get this most basic creed?

1. Real journalism?
We haven't seen that since OJ Simpson issue.

2. It was called "New Journalism" in the 70s, and also "gonzo journalism"
so it's been around awhile. For broadcast media, it's actually just another way to reinforce the brand--like how they all say "This is so-and-so reporting, for Channel 6, Action News" which I could very happily do without.

3. Journalism today has a new definition. It should be called
Tripe Investigation. "We find tripe and shove it down your throats." This episode is just another "terra" alert. WH must be worried about something. Although why puzzles me. They own us all lock, stock and barrel. And if the senators and reps we, the taxpayers, send to DC don't start working for us I hope every single one gets yanked out in the next election. Democrats and Repub. alike. We have become a take no prisoners whore society.

4. Because no real journalists work for CNN anymore, well
not in a position of authority.
