FREEPERS uncomfortable with Star Wars
...It seems they can't stand the idea that Star Wars Ep III really highlights their beliefs as being quite similar to those of Darth Vader and the emperor...

3. Well, the Dark Side is as the Dark Side does
The entire prequel trilogy is a slap at the Bush administration, because evil is evil no matter how you look at it.

4. Evangelicals = Sith
Does show a religious minority that is pissed by an event that occured before their lifetimes and want revenge by gaining absolute power to destroy those that humiliated them.

Perfect. I may have to go see it just for that line.

I want to see some costumed Star Wars nerds smacking freepers upside the head with their fake light sabers. That would make my day! :D

9. This Freepazoid post says it all (about their mental state)
To: EarthStomper

Actually, between the post-Star Wars VI novels (where Jedi led by Skywalker are mostly idiots), and the general idiocy of the Jedi in Star Wars I-III (we find out where the Jedi learned to be idiots), I have come to like the Empire a LOT more than I would ever like the the Republic...

I guess that means he likes the (Bush Criminal)Empire here better than the Republic too?

10. Forget what I just said. This is even BETTER!
To: EarthStomper

And who took down the Empire?

"I'm Han Solo. And I am the NRA."
"I'm Lando Calrisian. And I am the NRA."
"I'm Leia Organa. And I am the NRA."
"I'm Luke Skywalker. And I am the NRA."

11. WOW! Where are the freeps getting this?

But something else is disturbingly -- and rather awkwardly - evident: a recurring anti-Bush, anti-Iraq war message. Forget about the merits of the argument in question. This stuff has no place in a Star Wars flick.

Gee. an evil leader who uses a war as a cover to turn a once freedom loving republic into a Fascist empire.

Hmm, so where's the paralels with Shrub and what's going on now?

Seriously though, everyday it seems Freepers give us more reason to think they are idiots.

I mean, how the hell can you have Star Wars 4 if the Evil empire doesn't replace the republic in Star Wars 3? That Palpatine was a political leader who corrupted the Republic was established long before Shrub ever came about. In fact, wasn't the basic story line written back in the 70s?

I dare say some one has a guilty conscience and is trying to cover it up with rationlizatiosn and thinsg that aren't there.

Tough shit! If you don't like how you're metaphorically portrayed, make your own movie. What a bunch of dolts.

An article three years ago from The Weekly Standard that says Lucas has it all wrong, the Empire is good.

I'm not kidding.

16. Holy crap, this guy is insane, it was this quote that got me...
"as emperor, Palpatine is a dictator--but a relatively benign one, like Pinochet. It's a dictatorship people can do business with." That is of course, if they don't like you, they kill you, just like the "benign" Pinochet.

This guy is a colossal jackass.

18. This was posted the other day here, and what I said then
Was that there is one really intersting detail about this piece that no one really gets to mentioning.

Look at how he describes the emperor, how he "keeps peace through brute force" to supress groups who would otherwise be fighting for control and power.

Sounds almost like Saddam, right?

And, doesn't it seem strange that someone who described an attempt to overthrow the Emperor as evil and wreckless would then turn around and fawn over someone who tried to remove Saddam?

I mean, really, this guy is comparing Bush to the rebellion because they had the same role with the Emperor/Saddam.

And he said the rebellion was completely wrong!

Where's the disconnect?

Kinda sucks to look into a mirror darkly, and see that 'evil personified' Vader that you've known for almost twenty years bears a striking resemblance to yourself, doesn't it?

I know what you mean. We need a Tarkin; "fear will keep the local systems in line." We must be absolutly ruthless when dealing with our enemies. If terrorists destroy one building, we nuke one of their cities. If they nuke a US city, then we nuke mecca, medina and the rest of their holy cities.
