Pharmacist's "Right of Conscience" v. Soldier's "Right of Conscience"
If the Religious Right supports a pharmacist's right to refuse to fill prescriptions for birth control pills to women if it violates the pharmacist's morals, then certainly the Religious Right must agree that the soldier's right to refuse to go to war because innocents may be killed deserves their enthusiastic support as well?

If you agree with this logic, help me get the idea circulating by shooting out a couple of LTTEs tonight on this.

Thanks.

1. Do you either support both or neither?
Unless you fall into one of those categories you would be as much a hypocrite as they.

2. I learned in law school that the best way to defeat an argument
is to turn your opponent's argument back on them - to show that it "cuts too far".

The Religious Right's argument cuts too far. If we are going to allow pharmacists, doctors, etc. to refuse to treat people based on personal morals, then certainly the same goes for soldiers. In spades.

I don't see how it is hypocritical to force them to follow their own logic, or to point out their own hypocrisy.

3. I think it's a good analogy...
Repubs seem to love analogies - of course their's all suck.

This is a good one though.
