6. Yes and no
It was a unanimous decision by the DC circuit court--hard to imagine all 9 of the judges were in some way bought off. But--corporate influence over the legal system is real and pervasive. Certainly it's in the oil and electric power industries' interests to keep the energy task force meetings secret.

5. It's just amazing
that a yellow-bellied draft dodging coward like Cheney made it as far as he has. I guess it's true that money and favors can pave the path to corrupt success.

The Embarrassing Judge Randolph
When the D.C. Circuit heard a case on whether the EPA should regulate CO2 under the Clean Air Act last Friday, Judge A. Raymond Randolph appears to have truly distinguished himself. According to the Times, Randolph's "questions suggested that he did not believe a clear link had been established between carbon dioxide and global warming." The Post went into more detail:
"We can't even tell what the weather's going to be two weeks from now, but these models tell us what the climate is going to be like 100 years from now," said Judge A. Raymond Randolph, whose questioning appeared to favor the EPA's position.
So it appears that Randolph, known to be a conservative, is both unaware of the latest climate science and doesn't understand the difference between climate and weather. Ah, the joys of life tenure.

14. Why was this immediately moved from LBN (when it IS LBN) but bradblog...
...revelations on similar topics are not moved from LBN? It's the same premise - an alternative news site breaks a story. Hoping to get a civil reply, and not have the thread locked for asking a reasonable question...

Mods: Please check LBN right now, and see a similar revaluation from bradblog about a Bush agency paying a journalist for stories -remaining on LBN.

Thanks,
Lori Price

15. 115K is not very impressive
You'd have to add at least one zero to keep a judge from sneezing.

However, I never realized that judges have side-jobs and that in itself is disturbing.
