Expletive gets through on 'SNL'

This story appears on the front page of CNN.com. A rock band, in an appearance on an adult oriented tv show, after midnight, uses a swear word, after warning in advance that they would do so.

1. How/why is this possibly news?
2. Whatever happened to the 7 second delay?

1. This is idiotic

I saw it happen and yes; the first several were bleeped out but one did manage to make it through (big FUCKING deal). First thing I thought was "uh oh! This is gonna get major media coverage". As far as I know, the delay is in place - maybe someone let it through on purpose?

5. I caught it on TiVo

I will try to get it up online at some point. They were on a 7 second delay and bleaped out several "fucks" but one of them got through.

I'm not up on the latest rock bands, but I have to say they were really impressive (a little too intense for my taste) and once I figured out what they were saying I was even more impressed.
