The moves ARE being made like the early stages. Some pressure is being applied, but obviously there will be no UN arm twisting this time, no fake coalitions, no Powell. So outside of bombing and skulduggery how will they get the oil or pressure Iran into submission? terrorism and nukes?

Or just scare everyone while they enjoy the unbelievably uncontested rewards of domestic dominance. After all, securing the next decades of elections here is a more necessary prize for our gangsters.

is that sources keep saying the Iraq invasion WAS planned to be much earlier. It is hard to tell or even believe this was true but certainly a short blitzkrieg with an appalling small number of troops then swelled to an insufficient full scale force poorly supplied for long term operations. The main problem was not being defeated on the field but stalled with failing ammo and water.

NOTHING seems to bother them about lack of preparation so it is hard to read the signs of readiness. No patience for a Powell seduction of the UN
exists. Probably they are still lost in the delusion enough to think that THIS time a small blitz to link up with traitors will prove the mess is the fault of caution. But it is all too lazy, not just quiet. These are not people who can hide their emotions as easily as their documents.

David Corn even got scuttlebutt right from the Cheney people about an easy invasion with a small force. This time, does anyone care what might happen? Either there are no immediate committments or timelines for this summer or the neocons might suddenly push the button. If they are waiting to shout go to an unready attack force- again- then it would seem their confidence rests in an incident or two from others.

What do they want in the end? A dependent, puppet-like regime beset with internal control problems buying protection with a US oil monopoly. If it is to be THAT ugly then what do they really care what mess it takes to get to that pathetic result? No real consequences so far, none on the horizon.

54. I think they want to try

what they originally planned for Iraq. First they insert an "invincible core force in key parts of the country, in effect staging a massive military coup. As powerful as the Iranians are they will then be forced to dislodge a supposedly impregnable, air covered force in their home territory or try to starve them out as the US digs in militarily and with propaganda, as the oil slips from Iranian control. In a game of chicken with the oil, only the US seems crazy enough to endanger it.

Fort Apache, Iran, but they intend to have the Iranians wasted in automatic attempts to oust the invader. As usual the real defense is to crush the invaders at the point of intrusion. I wonder if our fantasy crippled and over extended Intel corrupted by stupid reliance on Cheney sources won't get us a major fiasco beyond the skills and heroism of our troops to overcome.

And don't accuse the Iranians of wanting this since the consequences of being victorious in their self defense could be ultimately exttremely bad.
