God in the Government? This is insane!
Apparently the separation of church and state is a joke to some. When churches can BULK ORDER a Christian symbol with "One Nation Under God" and the shrubs name in the center it's scary times indeed!

1. Oh, and this is rich!!!
A portion of every purchase goes to Compassion.com, a group dedicated to releasing children from poverty in Jesus’ name.

Yeah...right!

There's never been an administration less caring of the poor within our nation than the one currently ruling over us now.

And Bush is fulfilling the role of anti-Christ.

8. So, finally, they now have bumperstickers declaring * to be God.

But my favorite is the bottom banner:

I suppose the * tax cuts does this very thing.

What I find appalling is that these people say that want Christ BACK in government, somehow indicating that he was ever in our government to begin with. The Founding Fathers expressly dictated that religion does not play a role in government. These people who scream it so loudly from the rooftops have never studies the begining of this country nor the Founding Fathers. They simply believe what those with an agenda tell them.

Sad. Very sad.

Releasing is the term they use for capital punishment and infanticide.

Ironically, it's a favorite target of book banners, due to the main character's disrespect for authority.

Not to mention all the Christians out there who DIDN'T vote for the shrub. This is all going to backfire on the Republican's. Mark my words. Dominionists Try to Get Control
of Ohio Government Posts
By JAMES DAO
COLUMBUS, Ohio - Christian conservative leaders
from scores of Ohio's fastest growing churches are
mounting a campaign to win control of local
government posts and Republican organizations,
starting with the 2006 governor's race.
http://www.yuricareport.com/Dominionism/DominionistsTryToControlOhio.html

This movement is dangerous, active and powerful. And since the leadership of the government is involved, it's time to to call them out. Name them, and expose them. They stole the election in Ohio in '04 and they will do it again.

35. I sponsor a child through Compassion
I do so because this organization has been consistently found to donate the majority of the donations it receives to the children directly.

So, here's my email feedback to them today:

Dear Compassion, It has come to my attention that a website called "http://bushfish.org" is advertising that proceeds of sales from that site are donated to Compassion. It comes complete with a trademarked direct link to Compassion.com.

What I find extremely offensive about this website is that it offers for sale bumperstickers of the Christian Fish with the name "BUSH" in the center and along the top & bottom "One Nation Under God." As a Christian, I am offended by equating a mere human being as being an equal to God. None of us are equal to God, nor can we ever hope to be. Only through His Grace are we saved so that we can spend eternity with Him in Heaven. I am offended by this because it essentially states that as I am not a Republican, I am therefore not Christian. Where in the Gospels does Jesus ever state "Only Republicans can be Christians?"

For your information, I vote Democratic and support Compassion because I believe the most important of Jesus' teachings were those which involved the caring for the poor & for children. The Republican Party, in my opinion, has left "compassion" by the wayside in its quest for power. How else to explain the ongoing war in Iraq, where so many children are dying from violence & disease?

The teachings of Jesus are also my inspiration to work for Legal Aid, making much less than I would if I were in private practice. I believe it is my mission to use the talents given to me by God to help those who cannot help themselves in the legal system. My sponsorship of (EDITED OUT CHILD'S NAME) is an extension of that mission that carries over into my private life. Is my work & support of (CHILD) now any less important to God and/or to her because I voted for Senator Kerry?

As an American, I am offended because of the blatant impression that only Republicans are true Americans. My ancestors fought in the Revolutionary War. One even showed up to fight the British at Lexington & Concord on April 19, 1775. How dare these people even suggest that I am NOT a "real" American simply because of how I vote!!!

Coming as this does on the heels of that church in North Carolina that excommunicated its Democratic members, I am offended by this apparently endorsed tie-in by your site with this particular group.

I have sponsored 2 children through Compassion because I believe in its mission & I would like to continue to do so. However, if my money & support is not welcome to you because I am a Democrat, please advise me of this.

I ask you to look into this matter and inform me of your conclusions. I do not believe that this particular site is in line with the teachings of Jesus. While the owners of this particular site are free to express their exclusionary ideas, I feel that it does not become Compassion to be affiliated with it in any way, shape, or form.

37. KUDOS, WolverineDG!
See how diverse our party is? I've always wondered about this organization, Compassion, but have never donated. Why? I was raised Christian but as a gay man have too many reservations about most faith-based charities. I would never discourage someone else from giving to the charity of their choice, unless of course it is a divisive cause, such as this one. Thanks for your extraordinary letter to Compassion. You put a new perspective on this for me.

In the wallet, if necessary. You are right in that they are looking for sponsors, and just like Microsoft with their backpedaling on the gay rights issue, if Compassion finds how many people support them that DON'T support the integration of religion in our politics, they may take a stance. Let's see what happens. Thanks for the post.

They have a letters sections where people can send in photos displaying their magnet. One guy has one on his hummer - so typical.

I was considering sending them the following message. I can't do it at work though and am not sure I want this guy to have my e-mail address so I am conflicted.

Here's the message.

Your Bushfish effort is truly outstanding and should be complemented. Not only is it a great design that denigrates both a worldwide faith and our own American flag but it is an exceptional effort at taking Jesus words - Give to Caesar what is Caesar's and give to God what is Gods and - and marrying them to - Give to Caesar what is Caesar's because Caesar is now God.
