Do Republicans LOVE Stalin?
The Republicans have been In Charge of America for 5 years. Are we beginning to look like Stalin's Soviet Union?

How do Republicans love Stalin???
Let me count the ways:

Secret Prisons where people are "disappeared"

Dismantling of Individual Protections from Government

Torture as a National Policy

Police State Powers Increasing

One Party Government (No Effective Opposition Party)

Absurd (OBSCENE)and expanding Military Budgets

Dismantling of Humanitarian Programs to pay for Military

State Owned Media

Persecution of Dissent

HyperNationalism masquerading as Patriotism

Emerging Class of SMALL POWERFUL ELITES

Bogus and unverifiable elections

Private Police and Security Forces not accountable to the Public.

Republican Party Secret Police to screen at Bush* appearances

NO Civilian Control and Oversight of Military

Highest percentage imprisoned in Western World

Potemkin Villages for the Press and Red Cross (Iraq and Guantanamo)

Rampant Historical Revisionism

Privileges and Access for Republican Party Members Only

Ruling by Executive Order

Judiciary controlled by Executive Branch

Legislative Organs controlled by Executive Branch

Power Consolidated and Concentrated in One Person

Government Officials WARNING to be careful what we say

Controlled and Scripted PUBLIC appearances of Republican Party Officials

Government encouraging citizens to spy on each other

Secret files on law abiding citizens

Manufactured phony State Heroes (Tillman, Lynch)

State Medals awarded by Cronyism and Republican Party Loyalty, not merit

Odor of Arrogance and Contempt from Republican Party Officials

WOW. I gotta stop.
I'm scaring myself!

I am NOT EQUATING the USA today with Stalinist Russia.
I AM saying we are moving in that direction.

Feel free to add to the list or dispute my claims.

3. That's a KEEPER!
I just "voted" for this thread, and will check back from time to time to see what additions may be added. (I can't think of any myself at present). And I too, will 'plagiarize' it in a good cause.

8. Thanks.
You may use this list however you wish with my blessings.
I would love to see it posted in every laundromat, supermarket, coffee shop, and bus stop in America credited to an anonymous patriot.

5. Authoritarians
Republicans tend to lean toward authoritarianism. Stalin was an authoritarian. (In addition to be a psychopath and sociopath, probably.)

6. unfortunately, stalin and hitler both have been "demonized"
hitler and stalin both have been so demonized that the masses wouldn't recognize an ideological and moral identical twin unless it also had horns and a pitchfork.

seriously, unless shrub starts butchering millions, no one will accept comparisons to monsters like hitler and stalin no matter how accurate they may be.

it's part of what lets him get away with sharing so much in common with these monsters.

9. But this is a rule of corporatists...like Mussolini..not a Communist type
of government. It comes from the RIght, not from the Left.
Some of the external trappings may look similar, and many of the results and processes are similar, but the original motivation stems from a much more evil and insidious source. There never was an ideological high plane from which it fell. Unlike the Leftists, the goals of the Right were ALWAYS to subjugate the masses for the benefit of the few.

7. Republicans have sought one party rule for decades.
This time they think they can avoid an economic meltdown. We'll have to see.
