3. I have to pick up the show through the archives
since I am right now listening to BradBlog's repeat of last night's show.

It is so good that Bob McChesney archives his show.

9. Thanks
and congratulations for breaking the donation goal. I am eager to get my copy of the book. The lady who took my call was surprised that I was not in the area and listened through the web. Ha!

8. Old Seymour was sure doing a fast Foxtrot
Edited on Sun May-08-05 02:23 PM by JohnyCanuck
when an early caller asked him what he thought of David Ray Griffin's book (The New Pearl Harbor). Seymour hemmed and hawed a bit before rambling off on a tangent for about 3 or 4 minutes about blogs and bloggers and how effective and relevant they were, remarking that some of them were useful like Juan Cole... yada, yada, yada (although the caller to my recollection never mentioned anything about blogs in his own remarks).

Finally he concluded by saying that he wasn't a conspiracy theorist. However he never directly said that he thought Griffin's work was unsound, unscholarly, showed poor logical thinking or anything along those lines. In fact, he never mentioned Griffin's name, Griffin's books, or Griffin's position that there was US government participation in planning the 911 attacks in his comments in response to the caller's question, and as far as I know, Griffin doesn't have a blog and is not a blogger.

10. Answering another later question
Hersch asserted that the press was always going to be at least 6 months behind any social movement. This seems to connect to your point in a way. I wonder if he thought it over and inserted this to absolve them of having to deal with Griffin's "theory".

Griffin, having been on C-Span again this weekend, was certainly a timely related question to SH today.

11. I missed that, but
I did hear a question toward the end on 9-11, and I thought his voice was a little wavery. Maybe a little nervous. He moved the question to Iraq, which is partially ok I guess, when you remember that Iraq was invaded (depending on which reason you're counting today) because of 9-11.

He also touched on the electronic voting thing. Said he thought Bush did win, but was concerned about the problems in Ohio, and that five years after the Florida debacle we still really haven't addressed the problems. Hey, at least a few of the biggies are starting to at least say hedging stuff on BBV.

I am in the process of "retiring" as the producer of the show, though I will still be indirectly connected to it. I'd still love to see it get syndicated someday...
