Is the "Los Angeles Dog Trainer" a REAL Newspaper?
Or is it just just slang or something else, or another Newspaper?

I've heard Paula Poundstone and Harry Shearer refer to it, but when I Googled it, I came up with a bunch of web pages that look like Amateur Dog Training pages. (go figure)

2. That could apply to either L.A. daily
We only have two, the TIMES and the DAILY NEWS. The NEWS is a right-wing rag that started life as a throwaway weekly, "The Valley News & Green Sheet."

The TIMES has just gotten worse and worse since it was bought out by the Chicago Sun-Times Syndicate. The best evidence: editorial cartoonist Paul Conrad being replaced by the scribblings of loathsome right-wing tool Michael Ramirez.

3. Actually, I think it's a vastly improved paper from what it was. While
other national dailys have slipped visibly in recent years -- particularly The WaPo, the NYT and the Boston Globe -- the Dog Trainer has actually run some interesting, in-depth Washington investigative stories about Iraq and the OSP-AIPAC scandal.

Judging from posts here at DU, we repost the LAT more than the WaPo and The Boston Globe (once, the premier liberal major paper in the US, and now perhaps the only one that pretends to be left of center)which has sadly become little more than a shadow of its former self since it was taken over by the NYT syndicate.

We are indeed fortunate that the international media is accessible via the Internet. Without that, we'd be the three blind men caught in a stampede of elephants.
