the play never stops. Just a few of the actors get replaced, but the show continues.

Someone wrote that history repeats itself every 30 years (about 1 generation). If we don't learn the lesson, that particular damage will come back to haunt us. VietNam ended about 30 years ago.

After the last Americans were flown out, hanging on to that rope at the end of the helicopter, who could possibly imagine that we would repeat the same type of mess, 30 years later?

It's a big circle going around and around. With Bush (junior) and Kerry it's been: Bush, Kerry, Bush so Kerry's supposed to complete it again.
