Rapier sharp, up front and taking on the big guys (Eliot Spitzer)

excerpt:

Hearing him speak in person, I was afraid of being disenchanted. I came away even more afraid of how much I liked the guy. He seemed genuine, sincere, funny, whip-smart and smart-ass, too. He's fighting the good fight and is unabashedly unafraid to show he's enjoying it.

Every time he tried to be politic, saying something like "But that hasn't been proven yet," or some such, he'd bust out laughing at the absurdity of it all.

In an hour of conversation, Gates said nothing. Absolutely nothing. And then he left, refusing to take questions from the audience. Before him, the White House's Hubbard stood there telling us the president's Social Security plan was going along like gangbusters. I could barely choke my food down.

2. Thanks for this, UpInArms!
"I hope he's for real, and so far he has been. He's Teddy Roosevelt and Eliot Ness. Not sure if the U.S. is ready for a Jewish president born in the Bronx, but it should be."

The US doesn't have to be ready for Spitzer Yet but we here in New York are and he can work his way up! :D
