Knight Ridder: British memo indicates Bush made intelligence fit Iraq pol
http://www.realcities.com/mld/krwashington/11574296.htm

WASHINGTON - A highly classified British memo, leaked in the midst of Britain's just-concluded election campaign, indicates that President Bush decided to overthrow Iraqi President Saddam Hussein by summer 2002 and was determined to ensure that U.S. intelligence data supported his policy.

The document, which summarizes a July 23, 2002, meeting of British Prime Minister Tony Blair with his top security advisers, reports on a visit to Washington by the head of Britain's MI-6 intelligence service.

The memo said "the intelligence and facts were being fixed around the policy."

Rep. John Conyers, D-Mich., the leading Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee, is circulating a letter among fellow Democrats asking Bush for an explanation of the document's charges, an aide said.

Well, it is all there. I hope this gets picked up by a lot of newspapers.

1. The Democrats have to be the ones to be persistent on this...
otherwise, it will blow over as a non-story. It is a bombshell and the Democrats need to keep screaming until the friggin press wakes up... The press will not cover it unless the Democrats make them.. Simple as that.

7. The "opposition" has to make it a priority...
if the Democratic Party is not persistent on this story, they cannot blame the press. The press will report the opposition's viewpoint if the opposition is vocal enough... but unfortunately, they will not report it on their own volition.

9. Yes.. there are actual "RIDDERS" that still control the company.
It's still somewhat of a non-corporate corporation, if that makes sense. There is hope?
