Are the Dems Boring People to Death? Do We Need a House Cleaning?
Maybe it's called the 60-year burnout but I think I will need a dose of female Viagra to get it up for the 'usual' drones. I want a NEW oldie. I want a name that's known in Dem circles and by the public but is not on the endless recycle list. They've had their day. By the same token there are a bunch of Dem politicians who are in essence playing a 'second banana' role who need to burn off the dead wood at the top and begin emerging. We can do better. We have some exciting people (and no, I'm not thinking Obama--that's way down the road, if ever). Our hope for the future is not going to be found doing his/her exercising on the old treadmill. Our "hope" has to go outside and walk with the people.

I won't mention which Dems I would like to kind of fade away and just stick to whatever present job they have, nor which ones I feel have "it" and need to be promoted and encouraged.........'cause it would start a war. I'd just like people to turn the page and start reading some new chapters.

2. If they vote in the peoples interest, KEEP THEM
If they are CORPORATISTS, vote the fuckers out.

Don't worry about party affilliation

3. dko---actually I'm not thinking in terms of that kind of housecleaning
Let them stay with their day jobs of being Reps or Senators or Govenors or whatever. I'm talking about starting to groom 'stars' to lead this party to victory in '08 and possibly to help in the '06 election along the way. I just don't want to see the same old faces show up as the frontrunners of the Dem party because I think it means certain defeat. We have some star power running under the radar and we need to clear the air of the 'blowhards' with ambitions who are clogging up the air waves.

4. We need people with integrity and guts to run for office. I think that's
where the problem is. We need people interested in running their own lives and government. 65% of the voters stay home and most people are smarter than the average and don't run for office. I have a feeling Washington is a disaster for a person with morals and ethics. It's a shame. This could be a great country again with the right people in office.

5. Flordia Pat--I'm talking about people who are already elected
Like I said we already have Dem politicans who could do some settimg the people on fire BUT (and you see it here on DU all the time), we keep going back to the deadwood of yesterday. We have certain Senators, Reps, Govenors, etc. who we should be putting into the spotlight who are a breath of fresh air which would make Americans at least LISTEN TO US. They are not listening. They won't when re ressurect these same-old, same-old zeros. It's, like, starting to back those 'second layer' on the political pecking order Dems. Get rid of this left over stagnation at the top.

7. I agree with youtotally. But we need people to replace them. Some of
these people that are in office are total dimwits. There more repubs with that description then I can come up with Democrats. Like my reps - Ginny Waite-Brown. But Bill Nelson (D) votes half the time for repub crap. And now we have Martinez (r) gag. We need Democrats with very loud voices.

6. Ask Bill McBride and the guy who ran against Arnie in CA.
I don't even remember his name, he was that boring.

We are plumb nutso freaks if we nominate someone bland/boring in 2008.
It's like we're learning nothing at all.

8. 2004 was the news media set up. Dean was way ahead. The media
slaughtered him. Then they came up with the chant - "Who Can Beat Bush" and put the spotlight on Kerry. Now I like Kerry. But the advice these Democrats are getting sucks. He tried to run the campaign with manners until it was too late. Then to say he would vote the same on Iraq - I mean, how dumb does one have to get on that one.

The repubs have committed so many real crimes and I don't hear a word from the Democrats. I know it's hard to keep up with all the crimes, but they should be like pit bull and bit in and not give up until the trials start. Why isn't Bush in jail? How about a word from anyone about the revelation from England?

The media people hired by the Dems make upwards of 100K to *do their job*.

This whole "Jeepers, whatever can we do about the big bad media" thing is becoming ridiculous. Do the Democrats have high school kids working on their PR, or what? Find a way around it, for pete's sake. Do something different. Dean at least had the blog, for example.

:nopity:

Of course, when Republican "journalists" are getting paid by the Bush administration, that's tough to compete with, LOL.
