1. Sadly, probably the same way as last time
Americans simply never learn.

3. Well, there would be a massive media push telling us how much..
we are rallying behind Bush and, eventually, the invasion of Iran...

4. They'd get behind all the false "machismo" of Bush instead
of realizing that it was his bullying that more than likely contributed to a second attack.
And, of course, the media would encourage this instead of investigating any problem.

5. America would react as the media instruct....
Probably with a renewed fervor in following the leadership of Our Great President. Time for a draft? Sure. Patriot III? Of course? Gut Social Security? This has nothing to do with the Attack, but Times Like These demand sacrifices.

Would any of the media ask why the Attack was allowed to happen? Did they after 9/11?

7. All of the above posts are right on the money
and if such an attack were to occur after * leaves office, the corporate media would sell it relentlessly as the terrorists, no longer living in fear of *, regathering their strength to hit us again....

9. One would think...
Edited on Tue May-03-05 07:24 AM by ktowntennesseedem
that Shrub's favorite saying would apply: "fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice... you can't get fooled again." One would think that after being told how much safer we are, what a good job we are doing going after the terrorists where they live, mission accomplished, freedom on the march, turning the corner, blah, blah, blah, a second attack anything like the first one would wake up a lot of people to see how empty all the rhetoric was and how vulnerable and unsafe we truly are.

But NO! Thanks to a government-controlled media that is only concerned with making a buck, a blissfully ignorant public that values entertainment over information and imagery over reality, and an majority party that considers 51% to be a mandate because they control the above and know they can spin their way out of any situation, Shrub will rise up and lead us on to glorious victory after glorious victory, all with the approval of a loving and grateful flock of sheep singing the praises of the wolf.

Someone wake me when it's over.

10. 60% would blame Bush.
The other 40% would be split between blaming Clinton or activist judges.

14. I know where he is
"Indeed, the United States has for decades sought to play a more permanent role in Gulf regional security. While the unresolved conflict with Iraq provides the immediate justification, the need for a substantial American force presence in the Gulf transcends the issue of the regime of Saddam Hussein."

"Further, the process of transformation, even if it brings revolutionary change, is likely to be a long one, absent some catastrophic and catalyzing event --- like a new Pearl Harbor."

Exactly where he needs to be. Forgotten. The old "in and out". We're beyond Osama. We live in a postOsama world.

13. Same as last time. No thought, just bomb whatever country comes into your
mind. 9-11 was never investigated and we have no idea who pulled it off...did that stop us from invading poor Afghanistan, like we had planned to do in July 2001 anyway?

Sadly, we would do exactly the same thing and the same people would pick our target for us.
