mirrors act started with 9/11,continued with WMD's in Iraq, the release of well timed Osama videotapes, beheadings,Anthrax scare,
etc.Now that we have a foothold in Iraq, the need for Terror is decreasing.That would also be used to claim that we are winning the war on terror.

The war on terror is a home grown phenomenon.It is serving our need for world domination a la PNAC,once the Communist scare has faded. Until another useful bogeyman develops, this will do nicely, thank you kindly.

You may wonder how this is being financed. First, a sort of an endowment fund for these operations has already been implemented with everyone from the Saudis, the Afghan drug trade,even the missing $4 trillion from our own treasury, the social security heist all making their contributions.

No wonder we cannot have medical care for the aged, there are no funds available for prescriptions, our manufacturing moves overseas,our industrial infrastucture is in shambles with GM and Ford leading the way.Life is grand if you are a Republican born on the third base of life.

1. Starting Gun

After the well-orchestrated "fall" of the Soviet Union, the US set out to find the next antithesis (bogeyman) to their thesis. They need to have a reason to maintain the huge military/industrial machine that is responsible for so many fortunes being made on the miserable backs of the vast majority of the world's citizens.

Voila...the modern stateless terrorist. They represent a perfect foil in that the "war" can never be won.

9/11 just represented the latest, and most audacious trigger event designed to emphasize the "crisis" that needs a "solution". In a state of constant fear the vast majority become compliant serfs willing to abandon all rights/reason for the sake of "safety". And it keeps working because most people are perpetually afraid.

Business as usual for the fear mongers and fascists.
