Poll question: Should Bill Clinton host a tv show...
...for an hour each weeknight and give his opinions?

1. I'm miffed at him
He spends too much time with the other side.

2. No, not unless he came out in FULL support of Democratic ideology
with NO wavering towards the other side. As much as I love BOTH of the Clintons, I think Bill should've quit while he was ahead. He's losing more and more credibility the longer he associates himself with any part of the Bush crime family.

When it comes to sticking up for Democratic ideals, he's no Mario Cuomo.

4. If it were another version of the Tonight Show, yes!
He would make a great late night host.

9. I'd rather see him hosting a Late Night with David Letterman type show.
He could play his sax, have some fun, and charm the public.

6. I wish he and a lot of his other Cabinet members had shows on AAR. I
would like to have more variety of people doing short shows instead of a few people doing these long, long shows.

A lot of people would commit to a one hour show once a week.

If he wanted to be a semi-regular on some tv show, that might be ok too.

10. He has a mixed legacy at best
He balanced the budget, but he also had "don't ask, don't tell." He reigned during a time of economic stability, but he attacked America with NAFTA, and let's not get into his signing of the Telecommunications Act of 1996, which allowed radio to transform into hate radio.

11. But hosting a tv show involves charisma as much as anything else. nt

12. I think he can do more good in another position.
He's got the charm and intelligence to be a host, and of course the salivating media corporations like A) name recognition, B) celebrity, and C) potential controversy (for there are, alas, Clinton haters in the land who would go ballistic if he got his own show, even if it were on Al Gore's network).

But it's better for him to attend to other matters -- foundation work, teaching, etc. He can use his power more effectively that way.
