6. Here's an exception

I love this one. When the tsunami struck, a man from the Atlanta area, who was a rich physician, was given HOURS of face time, because his son (rich, white, but MALE) was travelling in Thailand at the time, and he had not heard from him. This guy was even on Larry King Live!

About a week passed, and this guy kept getting face time. CNN accompanied him to Thailand, to document his agonizing search for his son.

At some point in his flight, he finally got a phone call from his son -- saying that he had been in a part of Thailand FAR from the area hit by the Tsunami. Talk about non-stories....

And yet, CNN showed the "touching reunion" of the father with his son, who had "survived the tsunami." HELL! Why didn't I get on CNN, because I "survived" the tsunami by being far from the area it hit?

I raised the question that, given these families are both from the Atlanta area, that did that cause for these two incidents to be beaten to death 24/7 -- that perhaps their wealthy and well connected families had friends at CNN?

The uncle of a 4-year-old girl found stabbed to death behind her home was charged Friday with capital murder in the child's slaying, Bay City police said Friday.

Police discovered Castelano's niece, whose identity was withheld pending autopsy results, in an alley behind her home Friday afternoon. She suffered trauma to the head and had been stabbed in the neck and chest, Bay City Police Captain Jim Jumonville said.

The girl's uncle had been baby-sitting her and her two siblings while their mother was at the hospital, police said.

After returning from the hospital, the child's 27-year-old mother realized her daughter was missing. Her two other children, a 10-year-old and a 3-year-old, were in the house and safe.

I personally can't stand it and have yet to follow even "one" of those stories. People ask me "What do you think about the X story"....and I generally say X-who ?

If you can figure out why the "reality tv", "idol", and all that other crap works for viewers, then I suspect you will be close to understanding why only white girls (and women) are featured on these national stories.

and get scared thinking it could happen to them next and then they watch the news. Ratings go up which boosts profits, sponsors are happy, it's good for business and therefore good for the country...it all makes perfect sense. :sarcasm:
