We CAN'T afford $10 billion for Americans' healthcare, but we CAN afford
$106 billion in tax cuts.

WASHINGTON -- Republican leaders in Congress announced agreement Thursday on a 2006 budget that calls for new belt-tightening in major domestic programs, even as it allows $106 billion more in tax cuts and leaves a $382 billion deficit.

Total cuts to federal benefits programs under this plan are approx. $35 billion, with Medicaid shouldering the largest cuts.

Medicaid "is growing far too fast for us to be able to afford it," said Senate Budget Committee Chairman Judd Gregg, a New Hampshire Republican.

We can't afford $10 billion for health care for Americans who otherwise won't get it. We can afford yet another $106 billion in tax cuts.

This much on a freaking war.
And, a war we never should never have been started at all. You will not believe this, but I just had a heated discussion with a fundie republi-crap who said "there are two good reasons in NYC for going to war in Iraq and they are called the world trade center.

bullshit

5. Evidently, the message did not get to the church population.
At least, around here. It seems that religion has become the duct for Bush propaganda. Outrageous stories that even the National Enquirer will not carry seem to wind up in the pulpit.

Take the argument "We know where the WMD's are, but we do not want to tip our hand" argument made before the war. I still hear them recite it today. Phantom evidence that somehow these mysterious weapons wound up in Syria or somewhere else seems to circulate in their crowd as well.

They have been "stump trained" to accept everything by faith alone that is said in church. This is church-speak for "we have no proof, but you must believe this anyway".

How can a sane rational mind comunnicate with these folks?

2. "By their acts"
"They say that they have knowledge of God, while by their acts they are turning their backs on him; they are hated by all, hard-hearted, and judged to be without value for any good work."

3. Hey, the Boss needs another vacation home!
What right do you have to deny him that pleasure? It's his money!

That reminds me of a deadbeat client, Mr. PP, who failed to pay me for months. I called his bookkeeper and she told me "money was very tight" right now. The next day I get an email from Mr. PP inviting me to his fabulous new summer vacation home, "a perfect compliment to his 20,000 square foot coop in the city."

And people go without health care. Go figure.

7. That is so true.
Why can the average person not see this? It is so frustrating at times.

The money we could have saved by avoiding the war in Iraq would not only have helped Social Security, but would have funded lots of social programs.

Take taxpayer money by fraud and turn it into oil company profits. It is actually larceny by conversion
