Gannon didn't check in for Bush's 03/06/03 Iraq Press Conference
You would think that post 9-11 and in the weeks before the Iraq War was to begin, that a Presidential Press Conference at the WH would have been an extremely high security event?

Just one month before, Jeff Gannon had received his first day pass has a reporter for Talon News. It's alarming that within the month, Gannon had access to a major Bush Press Conference and was allowed in earlier in the day then checked out, but did not check back in for the press conference. This is a major breech of the President's security. Funny the WH doesn't seemed to concerned?

Too bad the video that was broadcast was done with only one camera that didn't move from the shot of Bush for the whole time. I guess they didn't want an incriminating evidence how scripted this conference was or that it may have been taped earlier that afternoon and that's why Jeff was hanging around all afternoon?

1. I'm quite sure security camera videos are available.
Broadcast videos don't count, except as tipoffs to alert viewers. It's the Monkey Palace security camera video I'd be looking for.

Good catch.

2. It looks like Gannon also got to attend
the afternoon practice session too? He probably got to pretend to be a journalist so Bush could get ready for the big speech.

3. It's hard to tell. The record-keeping is very sloppy.
Deliberately so, I presume. We really need to see the records of other reporters who were attending conferences and "visiting" the White House during the period when Jiffy-Lube Jeff was dancing to bush's music.

4. Actually, most of the time it was pretty good

There are only a few instance, but a few is too many, where he goes in or out but not both.

However, going to a briefing with Ari or Scotty you might expect the security to be little laxer. But not for a big Bush speech. Weren't we under Orange Alert at that point?

Can Conyers and Slaughter get those video's?? Are they open for people to recieve or just for security purposes?

5. Guess who was under the desk
Look at * in the video. It's pretty clear.

6. Another thing I was curious about
Notice how he got from this press conference (ended at 7 'til the hour) to the exit to check out (11 past the hour), but many, many of the days he was there the time lag to leave was much greater. Am I barking up the wrong tree? Imagining stuff?

8. That's what I am researching at the moment

That was how I came across this incident.

So far, I have 13 incidents where Gannon was at the WH after hours and way after the briefings were over. The pattern that I am seeing is that very often, this happened on days when Bush was at the WH entertaining foreign leaders. I think Gannon was there to help make sure some of the visiting dignitaries were properly entertained?
